I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this atmospheric, hospitable, characterful and value-for-money establishment. My brother and I had stayed before and returned this year for what we thought would be only one night en route to an apparently idyllic self catering cottage on the shores of Loch Awe. We had a lovely, clean, well presented, spacious room each with all the facilities we needed, the catering was great ( my poached egg and smoked haddock breakfast will live long in the memory and in itself warrant another visit ) and all the staff were so friendly and with an excellent sense of humour, especially the lady on reception. A very convenient short step across the road of course is the most wonderful "taste before you buy" Loch Fyne whisky shop. As I say we thought it would be only the one night but when we arrived at our self catering cottage, that we had booked and paid for months before, the owners claimed it was double booked and that they did not have any contact details to even have been able to warn us in advance. It was very difficult to find somewhere else at such short notice but the George were really helpful in squeezing us back in for another night, so at least we had the pleasure of a return visit to a place I would unhesitatingly recommend and to which we are certain to return.
