“A perfect drop-in”

What a perfect place for a breakfast on route for the ferry over to Islay and a pleasant lunch on return to the mainland and the welcome you receive from the staff on entry is wonderful.

“Delicious food and great service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2013

We had haddock and chips and a roast smoked salmon salad followed by homebaked chocolate cake. It was delicious! The bistro was very busy. All the meals coming out looked tasty. Would definitely eat here again.

“Great cake, but beware the dusting and don't sit by the door!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2013

Passing through the town and stopped for tea and cake. Very reasonably priced (just under £10 for 2) and excellent home made carrot cake - yummy.
For some reason though, the cake was placed on a paper serviette that had received a liberal coating of icing sugar 'dusting'. Invisible to the eye until you remove the serviette, at which your trousers get a full shower of the white stuff.
Also, so popular is the place that there is often a queue - all stood just inside the door and hovering over your shoulder as you eat and drink, so if you can, get a table away from the door.

“Glad I went in!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2013 via mobile

Was touring around this lovely town and only wanted a little snack. Went in and had some cake and coffee! It was like I was transported in time and was enjoying a home baked cake someone's grandmother had baked! Absolutely delicious!
