What a lovely review! Many thanks for these cheery and upbeat comments. We try to create an easy and comfortable atmosphere, with a relaxing aperitif whilst choosing from the menu, and books and magazines for guests to browse in the lounge whilst waiting for their food to be cooked to order. We are delighted that you enjoyed the super sea view, and the food and service. We hope to have the pleasure of your company again. Best wishes, Granny!!

“Seafood heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

I had an evening meal at the Cragard - believe it was the seafood platter with smoked mussls - and it was incredible. Lovely restaurant, great view, Dougie Maclean as background music - but the meal was really outstanding. Also found the owners very friendly and service great. Will be going back.

“excellent food in a really nice, quirky setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2013

nicely decorated, stylish restaurant that serves excellent, imaginative food without being pretentious. We had to wait for half an our to be seated in the dining room but hardly noticed the wait, because we were placed in a comfortable lounge area and immediately got drawn into a number of conversations. Although the quality of the food would have merited formal dress, the dress code was quite relaxed - just like the service, which was efficient, witty and friendly. The food was very tasty and fresh and good value for money. Would certainly recommend a visit to the Lochside Restaurant.

“Quirky but fabulous!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2013

We were dropped off by taxi, and were shown into a guest room with a tv. We both looked at each other and wondered had we done the right thing - could we run after and stop the taxi?! This set up reminded us of a guesthouse common room, although it was cosy and had a beautiful view. To be honest, we were a wee bit out of our comfort zone, as we've never been taken into this kind of surrounding to wait to enter a restauraant and have our order taken. However, the wine list and menu were very promising, so we decided to stay.

After ordering, we were shown into the restaurant, as our starters were ready. The starter, main and pudding did not disappoint. The food was excellent, and the sticky toffee pudding was the lightest I've ever eaten. I urge anyone visitng Campbeltown to eat here. There was not one morsel eaten that we could have complained about. The place appears to be more guest house with a licence, but it is a 3 star small hotel, and quite rightly so as the food more than makes up for it. We stayed at The Royal in Campbeltown, and that was a lovely hotel, but when we come back to the area, we will definiately be staying here. Gorgeous surroundings, great hospitality, and beautiful food. What more do you need?!

“What a lovely place to eat!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

The menu is extensive an there should be something for everyone. There is the usual menu fayre plus a good range of dishes that are a bit different. Local produce is used to give a sense of what is produced locally. Excellent all round.
