On our trip around Mull with our Norwegian Viking friends, we decided to go for a walk around the island of Ulva. It is on the west coast of Mull and easy to get to using the small ferry boat that does the trip in a few minutes, almost every 20 minutes, or as required.
The Boathouse restaurant, near the landing pier, is small and modern with friendly staff and excellent fare. A short distance away there is a thatched cottage serving as a museum. There we learned that the Vikings landed here on 800 AD, found "no-one home," and called it Wolf's Island.
There are nice walks around the island, so we took one along the seafront and up a small hill. There were spectacular sea views with many small islands, and good views of Mull and Ben More.
Go there and enjoy it, and remember your camera.
