“Light snack in the kitchen...almost”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2014

We liked the restaurant that was part of the castle, so the building seemed like we were eating the the kitchen! The food was good, had a delightful carrot cake and 2 coffees. The service was okay...but they were very friendly.

“Soup & Sandwiches”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013 via mobile

Food was tasty, service quick and portions reasonable.
The size of the teapots was especially good, so plenty of tea. The sandwiches were on tasty bread and the salmon sandwich was very tasty.
There was a nice log fire burning in the hearth. The price was not unreasonable but then being in a castle it was slightly higher than you might find elsewhere. Well worth a visit.

“Lovely lunch!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

Stopped here whilst visiting the castle and very surprised by the quality and price of the food on offer. We had soup with abroath smokie and bread and a chicken, bacon and pine nuts salad. Both excellent and to be recommended. Staff helpful and smiley. Saw lots of gorgeous looking cakes but couldnt fit them in!
