Recently got back from a holiday in North East Scotland; my favourite place was without question Gardenstown.
The village is small and clings to the Cliffside above the sea; the people are friendly and seem genuinely pleased to see you and the weather was good - it actually was quite hot on the Saturday (I thought Scotland was supposed to be cold).
We stayed in the Garden Arms Hotel, the local pub, restaurant and hotel. It's run by an English couple who are extremely friendly and very welcoming. It was clean, well looked after and very good value for money; they even made up a packed lunch for me when I went walking.
In total I spent three days in Gardenstown. I walked, played golf, saw some dolphins, drank too much, ate too much and generally had a superb time. I'm looking forward to go back soon and I will definately stay at the same place again.
