My wife and I stayed at the Banff Springs Hotel in March 2006. We had a reasonably comfortable room, but you should check that there are no weddings or other functions taking place there before you book, as they can be very noisy.
When I was asked if I wanted a newspaper in the morning I assumed that this would be complimentary. Not so, we were charged for it even though we had to leave without the breakfast we had paid for!
This was because we had to leave early in the morning and could not get breakfast before 8 am. We had to make do with the meagre tea and coffee making facilities in our bedroom.
I wrote to the management complaining about their lack of flexibility. I have not had a reply to this letter.
The attitude of the management of the Banff Springs Hotel is not, in my opinion, in any way contributing to the success of the tourist industry in Scotland.
