“Worst Premier Inn I've Stayed In.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2011

Stayed in quite a few Premier Inns while working and have always found them to be basic but clean and tidy and this one is no different. What really lets the side down is the location and the associated pub. Why anyone would think it a good idea to put a hotel here is baffling? The area has nothing to off and very few shops nearby (Avoid the local chinese takeaway at all costs the food is terrible). Even as someone who's worked in some pretty rough areas in Scotland, I wouldn't feel comfortable straying too far after dark. The pub is big let down, dark, dingy and dated. Everything was sticky, the floor, the tables and the cutlery. Breakfast not up to the usual Premier Inn decent standard. Overall if you are staying for work then it's just bearable but if your a tourist then avoid at all cost.

Thank you for your review. I was shocked and disappointed to discover your heading and read your comments. The hotel was built over 15 years ago and still to this day offers easy access to the City Centre, coupled with direct access onto the A90 enabling you to travel North and South by passing the City Centre. In regards to the restaurant, this is run by a separate company to us. I will ensure that your comments are passed across and action is taken. Thank you again for your review and we look forward to welcoming you back to Premier Inn in the future. Regards, Jamie Crothall.

We stayed in this hotel for one night the beds are very hard apart from that its what it is,the pub next door this is the worst example of a restaurant/pub i have ever been inside the food arrived cold and yet burnt i asked for the food to be changed they said that they have now run out of the food we ordered and could not replace it,we left and went to mc donlads about a mile down the road, this was the last thing i needed to do after driving 3 hours to get to abredeen,we then went back to the hotel that said they had recieved complaints about the pub before and they was not suprised i cancelled the breakfast offer,i would rather eat my finger nails than have anything so say cooked in this place.

Allan, thank you very much for your reply. I am disappointed to hear that you did not enjoy your stay with us. We at Premier Inn pride ourselves on offering our guests a good night sleep, guaranteed. I am disappointed to hear that you found the mattress hard. We are always looking to improve our standards and without your feedback this would not be possible. In terms of the restaurant, unfortunately it is owned by a different company to us and works under a separate management team, I will be sure that your comments are passed to them and action taken. I hope to welcome you back to Aberdeen Central West and Premier Inn in the near future. Kind regards, Jamie Crothall.

Lovely hotel - clean and comfortable, excellent staff who went out of their way to be helpful (e.g. looking up bus timetables, offering advice about where to go/what to see in Aberdeen). However, the food in the adjacent pub was awful! I have never known a pub to get even chips so wrong.
Definitely stay at the hotel, especially handy for the hospital (courses, work, visiting), but eat somewhere else such as one of the lovely restaurants in Union Square in the city centre.

Very friendly reception & breakfast staff.
Evening restaurant staff not so friendly or helpful and no baby food/drink heating facilities (and they will NOT heat it up for you).
Rooms were clean and good size even with a travel cot in it.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review about us at Aberdeen Central West Premier Inn. Your comments about the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the rooms are much appreciated and I will ensure they reach the team. In regard to the heating of baby food, the restaurant next door is run by a different company, however I will investigate this further as I believe this facility should be made readily accessible. Thank you again, and we look forward to welcoming you back to Aberdeen Central West and Premier Inn in the future. Regards, Jamie Crothall.

Stayed at this hotel for two nights while visiting the inlaws. Hotel room was clean and comfortable, staff were friendly. A little mould on the sealant around the bath which could be sorted but that was the only negative.

Didnt eat at the pub next door as read some bad reviews.. although the inlaws said its much improved of late.

Thank you for your review. I am glad to hear you had an enjoyable stay with us. In regard to the bath sealant, we have identified this as an issue and will seek to replace this immediately. I hope when you return to visit the in-laws you will see the difference. Thank you again for your review and we look forward to welcoming you back to Premier Inn and Aberdeen Central West. Kind regards, Jamie Crothall.

Would definitely recommend this hotel and we will certainly use again when visiting our older daughter. Very clean, comfortable and modern and within easy reach of the city centre and the University. We had a family room - our bed was great but the little bed which our younger daughter slept in was pretty small - she still slept well though!! Breakfast at the Cocket Hat was very good and plentiful.

We stayed here while moving our son to Aberdeen Uni, the welcome from the reception staff was warm and helpful, the room itself was excellent, very clean with a comfy bed and super shower.
We will stay here again when visiting our son, great value for money.
