Having stayed at the Aberdeen hotel for one night, I realised the following day that I had left my Kindle in my room. I am absolutely confident that I did not take it with me as I realised I didn't have it BEFORE checking my bag at Abderdeen airport on the Friday evening. I called the hotel and spoke to Shelly, who was very helpful. She checked my room and informed me that it wasn't there but would get someone to call the next day as Housekeeping also had a safe for higher priced items that were found. Saturday went by with no response. I then called again on the Sunday and spoke to Yanis, who again was helpful and informed me that it was not in the safe, at which point I was concerned, as I definately left it in the room. Yanis was unsure of how to proceed, and informed me that a manager would call me on the Monday. I was not contacted on the Monday. I contacted the hotel myself and spoke again to both Yanis and Shelly, both of whom were very good, and both assured me that a manager would contact me. By Thursday I STILL had not been contacted by any member of managemnet. Apparently they are always in meetings!!! I then spoke to Emma, the receptionist team leader, who explained that she would chek with both Shelly and Yanis what communications had taken place. Shelly was actually there and did state that she had passed it onto management. Emma, informed me that there was a Management meeting on Friday (18th) morning, and that my issue would be discussed then and someone would get in contact with me then. It is now Saturdau 19th, over a week since I stayed and a member of the management team from the hotel has still not had the decency to contact me. I am now more annoyed with the lack of communication and the fact that a member of management has not had the decency to contact me and explain what the policy is on such matters, rather than the fact I left my kindle. I appreciate that it was my fault that I left it, but if I was the manager of the hotel I would be very concerned that it was not found by housekeeping and handed in the next day!!! I would like a resonse on (a) the policy regarding leaving items in a room and (b) why no memeber of management has contacted me......which is appalling!!! I would like to add that both Shelly and Yanis were very polite and helpful. My issue is with the managers, who clearly have no idea how to manage customers expecations!
