i was told not to take towels from the room for the pool even though i wouldnt have anyway(i think the owners had a preconceived idea in their head that i was just a young irish lowlife of some sort) and the next morning in breakfast i was asked by beryl if i had their towel in my bag to which i replied no>she then had the nerve and cheek to turn around and ask me could she check my bag to make sure. i made a mistake of ringing bob at 12.30 one night and he made sure i knew how upset he was about it,i felt like my stay was about trying to keep bob and beryl happy and not the other way around. even though i gave them 600 pound for my stay. every evening i went out i had to tell them where i was going and what time i would be up at in the morning,it felt so intrusive. i just wanted to be left alone and i never was,i dreaded seeing them as i was either lectured or told off, they had no regard for customer service at all. if i was running a b and b i would turn the phones off after 12 and give the customer lots of space unless they asked for my help. i had beryl standing around me at breakfast as if i wass going to steal the cornflakes.
rooms where great, pity i was treated like a lout.

We are very disappointed that this guest feels that we were intrusive during his stay with us. With respect and in response to particular issues, the first being the room towels, this has been a continual problem where some guests have been taking the towels from the en-suite to their offshore survival courses and not returning them or returning them damaged. We do have towels available from reception that can be taken from the guest house (a refundable deposit is required). Also, the guest volunteered to show us the towel and said that it had actually come from another hotel. The other issue is that the call at half past midnight was no mistake as the guest asked me if I would go to his room and get a telephone number for him as he wanted to meet a mate in town and he had left their number in his room. This was not the only night this happened, on another occasion he called after midnight but our caller system picked up the call and the reason he gave this time was that he just wanted to see whose number it was. As we are a guest house, not a hotel, we do not have 24 hour reception. We start work before 6 in the morning and are not usually finished until after 10.30pm. Regarding wanting to know what time guests are leaving in the morning - this is just so that in the event that they oversleep we can give them a call, as we have had on occasions guests missing their courses by oversleeping. We do chat with guests at breakfast but this is the first time that anyone has objected about us being friendly. Due to the bad weather conditions, he was given a lift to his course on one occasion and offered this on another morning. When he went away for the weekend he had left his phone charger and some clothes so we got in touch so that he could collect them. We feel that we do try to be purely helpful to our guests, not imposing.
