“Nice place, shame abput the food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013 via mobile

Went here last week while on business in Aberdeen, and can say it is the worst chinese i have eaten. Had a pork dish thinking it would be the real chinese char sui with the red colour round the edges. What i got was a tasteless spoungy meat that could have been seagull or cat!! Oh what i would do for a dna kit with me!! But was not pork i was eating! Wont be back here in a hurry

“We visit regularly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

We come here for the Chinese dim sum on a regular basis. Service can sometimes be on the slow side, and there is always changing staff. We have had food from the general menu when visiting with friends, but we have never enjoyed that. I would highly recommend for dim sum, for a true Chinese experience.

“One of our favourite places”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2013

A complimentary review from ourselves is long overdue, so here it goes. Been frequenting the Manchurian for years & recommended it to friends who have never been disappointed. Ian (the quiet one) & Jenny (who's taken time off to look after baby Rose) are excellent host's & ensure staff are efficient & attentive without being intrusive. Dine in or take away, always brilliant food, although I struggle not to have salt & chilli dishes of squid, monkfish or prawn, always in generous portions. There are 2 menu's to choose from although the oriental option isn't always on the table & a good sign is the fact that chinese families are there on a regular basis. Also you can always ask for your own favourite meal to be prepared if not on the menu just as 2 tables did last night. Cutlery or chopsticks, your choice. Also what you can't manage to eat you can take home, just ask & it will be put in take away containers for you.
Based in fairly central position with car parking available. Can do walk-in but best to book because if you don't you're likely to be disappointed.

“Dim sum for Sunday lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2013

Sign of a good Chinese restaurant in the UK? Yes, Chinese customers, and there are always plenty here for Sunday lunch. Four of the five of us had dim sum, chosen from the 40 items on the separate DS menu (their menus are on the web so you can check them there). The vegan member of the party opted for vegetables in satay sauce and steamed rice, and the youngest member of our family group managed to tuck a plate of shredded chilli beef away too. We ended up with slightly too many steamed dumplings and no char sui buns but that was our fault not theirs. Efficient, friendly staff. Cost? - £76.80 with Chinese tea and a soft drink. What more could you ask for? And if the experience gets your taste buds in the mood, you can always top up with your own ingredients at the related Matthew's Oriental Supermarket next door where many of the more common offerings are a fraction of the price in our local Sainsbury's and others unobtainable anywhere else in Aberdeen..

“Good food good atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013

My friends and I went to this restaurant on Sunday for lunch. The place was packed. It's one of a few restuarants that opens on Sunday. You should arrive there very early, i.e. opening time 12 PM. Any dish is good. Dim sum are perfect.
