“One Night Stay, Good enough.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2014

Stayed here for one night stop over midweek in February. Aberdeen is more expensive than London so value for money it is not however other than the cost no real complaints.
Apartment 23 was quiet two bed-roomed apartment and we a good night sleep. It was clean although some of the maintenance repairs in the bathroom had been poorly finished. Breakfast is economy delivered to your door like a packed lunch. Staff were friendly and overall it did the job. I have stayed in better for less but would be happy to use Micasa again.

Room Tip: Apt 23 was at the rear of the building, I would think those overlooking Market Street may be more li...

After a short drive by taxi from the airport we arrived to see that this apartment hotel was situated right in the center of the city, with fantastic access in all directions. The reception was friendly and helpful and we were able to get duplicate keys and cards for all of those in our party, which was very convenient for us.

We stayed in Room 15, which was a 2 floor, one bath, two bedroom apartment. The bedrooms were just lovely, airy and clean and spacious. Our bathroom was equipped with a bathtub and shower. On the first floor we had a full kitchen, dishwasher and clothes washer/dryer. There was also a small sitting area with one 2 seat sofa and 1 sofa chair.

The breakfast delivered to your doorstep is very simple, but definitely convenient if you're in a rush and just want to get out the door.

Just a few issues:

-It would have been nice to know beforehand that our room would be on two levels. The staircase was incredibly narrow and steep, and some people in our party struggled getting up and down them. Since it was a short stay we managed, but others may want to check before booking a room.

-The fan in the bathroom makes an amazing amount of racket. I have no idea if it's broken, or needs to be replaced, but it was very annoying!

Otherwise no complaints, and would definitely stay here again!

Im going to live here for about 3 months. Its very well located. You are in the most famous street of aberdeen where you can find anything that you wish. Bars, rstaurants, clubs, gyms, market, pharmacy. The apartament its really good. I am really enjoying this stay, big apartament with good bed, hesting system and everything that you need and look for in an apartament. Very good quality and really recommended.

Here I am, back in Aberdeen, staying in another serviced apartment. These are located on a busy road just off Union Street. It is best to arrive when out of rush hour, because otherwise the traffic noise makes it nigh impossible to communicate by intercom with the receptionist on the first floor, meaning you are stranded on the street. Inside the reception and lobby areas are massive, and a cheerful receptionist is there to help you. My apartment was large - perhaps 60 or 70 square metres - split over two levels. Sitting/dining area, kitchen, utility room and hall on the ground floor, and bedroom, bathroom and "landing" up a spiral (helical, if you are a pedant) staircase. Well equipped and reasonably furnished except for the absence of a desk at which to work (these are intended for busines people, after all). Sounds generally good. However....

In a previous review I mentioned that a hotel was somehow better than the sum of its parts. These apartments are somehow the opposite. The spaces are uninviting and a bit depressing. What the original building space cried out for was some true "warehouse style" apartments, but that presumably would have been too radical for Aberdeen.

We stayed at Micasa for only 2 nights and kept wishing we could return during the rest of our vacation, it was such a nice place and the staff was so friendly and helpful we were reluctant to leave. We booked two apartments and were lucky enough to stay in Room 1, apparently one of the larger rooms, so the entire family could meet there. We actually spent one night in, cooking a family dinner which was a lot of fun (and nice for those with let lag). There is an M&S just up the street for buying groceries, etc. I could easily see having Holidays here with family if being at home wasn’t possible. The living/kitchen room was very large and spacious.

Our apartment came with a fully stocked kitchen (dishes, silverware, pots, pans, etc.) a dishwasher, and even a washer/dryer for cleaning clothes. The two bed, two bad unit was very (spic and span) clean and nicely decorated with simple clean designs. In addition, the apartment has the hotel amenity of daily maid service (they even did our dishes), with typical towel, sheets, replacement, etc. On check in they ask for breakfast preferences and then leave everything (juice, fruit, cereal, danish, yogurt, and jams, etc.) on your doorstep to gather at your leisure. There was actually too much food for us! The maids leave milk in the fridge every afternoon, and kitchen comes with coffee/tea, sugar, salt, pepper, and even cleaning supplies for laundry and dishes.

Our apartment was facing the street, which gets very noisy, even late at night. Not a problem though as our windows were not only double paned, but double windowed (i.e. one set on the street, a large gap, and another set in unit). This made it very quiet no matter what was going on down on the street and I imagine helps with heating in the winter. The unit also came with table fans in case it got too hot. There was heating, but no air conditioning, which I think is pretty common for the UK and probably never needed.

The location is also super convenient as its right downtown and very easy to walk to almost anything (harbor and train station are very close), or easily catch a bus to anywhere. The hotel has no parking, but there is a garage one block behind it, that is not at all far to walk with luggage, and reasonably priced.

The only issues/surprises we experienced (and really this is stretching it) was the creaky floors. If you had to use the toilet down the hall, in the middle of the night, it wasn’t whisper quiet. We all had good laughs about that. In addition, there were no vents/fans in the bathrooms, but heated towel racks were included. This also seems to be a common UK bathroom configuration, at least from an American perspective.

Overall our experience with Micasa was wonderful and I’m telling everyone and anyone going to Aberdeen to stay here! We could not have asked for a nicer place to stay or a greater experience. In addition, the value for the price made this a really great deal. Thanks Micasa!

Room Tip: Each room is different and the hotel seems to try to assign you one based on the number in your part...

I have stayed in Micasa Apartments twice now. The first time was for my hen weekend in August 2012 and I went back again with my husband in February 2013. Firstly my hen weekend was fantastic. The hotel were very accommodating of the large group of girls that were travelling. The quality of the apartments is fantastic. A friend of mine who couldn't make it to the hen called in advance and asked if they could provide champagne for my arrival. Not only did the staff go and buy the champagne but they set it out in an ice bucket with glasses and everything! We all loved staying there and the location was perfect! Right on the high street. It was perfect for a night on the town. We all slept fantastically well and ordered a massive Dominos order to the hotel. The second time I was there was a getaway with my husband and he also loved it. Any time I am in Aberdeen this is the only place I would stay.

Very easy to book online. Apartments very big and clean and located in the centre of Aberdeen city centre. Very impressed with these apartments, had everything you needed and was very homely, didn't want to leave! Loved it!
