Go back in time and bring your children with you. Wonderful spot. Many happy trips here. Recommend anyone in the area to visit. Immersive historically and culturally. Great!

“What a trip into history”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

I visited here with my adult daughter who had never been to Ireland before and what a great history lesson.
Fantastic staff and all the buildings were authentic. We especially enjoyed the voyage recreations.
A real insight into what their lives were like in both the old and the new country.
An insight into our heritage. Hopefully there will be a return trip next year.

Went August 12 and found it to be a great day for the whole family. Weather was good so it helped the mood and thought it was great value for a full day experience.

“Ulster Folk Museum Park, Omagh, Ireland”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

What an enjoyable experience! The staff there are so helpful and pleasant, especially Rita Duffy who gave us so much information with a smile! There are cottages there representing Irish cottages, starting from the 1800's Ireland, showing replicas farms & machinery, a country town with all its shops. It also showed women in some of the cottages making pancakes, baking bread etc in primitive conditions. It also depicted the emigration to America of people from Northern Ireland. You enter a ship, walk out the other side and, hey presto! you're in America!! Then you make your way to different houses, some of which have been brought to the Folk Museum from America in recent years. these would have been the houses the immigrants would have settled in on arrival in America. It gives the history of the trades and type of work and their lifestyles in America. The whole experience was so interesting and amazing. In the lobby, on entering the Museum you will find a lovely little shop which sells beautiful souveniers, marmalades etc. Also in the lobby area you;ll also find a lovely little restaurant which serves lovely snacks and lunches at very reasonable prices.
So, if you're ever in Omagh, Co. Tyrone call into the Ulster Museum..... you won't be disappointed!!

“Bad experience not suited for kids”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012

This was the was the worst ever Halloween event that I have been at in recent years. In my group their were 2 adults and eight kids from 6 yrs to 11yrs. The event showed body parts, a dead person coming to life, a chain saw roaring at my side with a curtain between me and it and a man dressed with very little clothes. The children were terrifed and did not enjoy any of the tour.

This event may be suited more to adults than kids. Our appointment time was for 4 o clock and it was not dark had it been dark we would have had to leave because the kids were terrified. In the cottage were we tasted food it was brac and apple pie, in general kids don't eat currants or dried fruit this was not geared to children either apples and sweet would have been more suited to kids.

I would not reccomend this event to any other family or friends.
