“Like HEAVEN!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2013

What a perfect way to end my cycling adventures through Ireland with a visit to Number 8 Guest House, Deanfield. It was like a little slice of heaven! Karen and Bob were incredibly gracious hosts and welcomed me as if I was a member of the family. Everything was perfect. They welcomed me to their family table with delicious, healthy meals, the rooms were fit for a queen complete with cozy, comfy bedding and beautiful decor. Wonderful treats can be discovered around every corner, including a chance to take a luxurious soak in the deep victorian tub.
Ahhhhhh! Just heaven! This beautiful spot can't be beat! The guest house is within walking distance to the great city center so rich culture and entertainment are just footsteps away. I can't wait to get back to visit Karen and Bob again in their beautiful home.

Just back from an overnight stay at No 8 Deanfield and everything about our stay was wonderful. Karen & Bob were perfect hosts- so friendly and welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. We were welcomed with fresh filter coffee and cakes (where else would you receive this), and they would not accept any extra payment for this. We sat in the conservatory looking out on to the beautiful garden and we were so relaxed we could have sat there all night! Bob even offered to take us down town when we asked if they could recommend somewhere to eat.The house itself was gorgeous, luxurious and spotless and in a great location. The bed was so comfortable and we had a great nights sleep. As mentioned in previous reviews all the wee extras made this stay extra special and we will definitely stay again in the future when back in Derry. Forgot to mention that another guest left some luggage behind and Bob drove all round town to get this back to them. Thanks again to two lovely people. Best wishes Gina & John

Stayed at No.8 Deanfield during August 2013- what an experience! The hosts were very welcoming and went out of their way to make sure our stay was memorable in every way. Their attention to detail was second to none and our every need was catered for. We stayed in plush surroundings in a beautiful home looking out on manicured gardens- a retreat for body and soul! Breakfast was made to order and was fresh and wholesome. It really set us up for the day ahead.Karen and Bob were perfect hosts and it was a pleasure to stay at No.8 Deanfield.Location was excellent and within walking distance of the city-centre. Karen even drove us to a city centre car park and on finding it full found us a space in a busy parking area! I hope I have reason to visit Derry in the future so that I can stay in this lovely B&B again.

Would highly recommend Number 8 Deanfield for visitors to Derry. Stayed here during the Fleadh and found it very conveniently located to city centre...just a short walk across the Peace Bridge. Room was beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable with en suite. Karen and Bob were perfect hosts....Karen even drove downtown the following morning with us to find us a place to park. Breakfast was delicious, and tea and coffee making facilities in bedroom was just what we needed on arrival. All in all the hospitality, convenient location and Karen and Bob's attention to detail make Number 8 an outstanding B&B. Will definitely stay here again when I visit Derry.

Booked paegent weekend as a last minute thing so all the top Hotels had gone! At least that's what I thought came across Bob and Karen's Bed and Breakfast struck Gold. It was like home to home breakfast was brill (catered for all tastes) set us up for the day. Hospitality second to none Bob was even kind enough to give us a short tour of the main city centre. Thanks for making it a wonderful weekend see you December.
All the Best Jeff

Room Tip: only two to choose from en-suite the best, however I had double and it was very confortable.

Number 8 Guest House was a fantastic find, a friendly welcoming B&B with 5 star hotel standards.
We arrived late but were greeted in a warm welcoming manner by Karen who offered tea and homemade cake. Breakfast the next morning, served in the conservatory overlooking a beautiful garden, was delicious. Freshly brewed coffee, fruit juices, fruit salad, yogurts and a choice of cooked breakfast, everything you could want.
The en-suite rooms are elegant and so clean and comfortable. Fresh luxurious towels and the bed freshly made daily.
The location was also excellent beside a beautiful park, within walking distance of the Peace Bridge and convenient to Derry city centre.
Hospitality was superb. Karen and Bob were excellent hosts, they were so helpful and friendly. They made our stay perfect.
I would highly recommend it for anyone visiting Derry as it is a home away from home and if we were to visit Derry again we would definitely choose to stay here.
