As part of our wedding package the hotel included an overnight b&b stay with a 4 course dinner on our first anniversary. I decided as a treat to book a second night and make a weekend of it - I was definitely not disappointed. We stayed on the luxurious 7th floor of the hotel - suites reflective of the city of Derry and some of its famous people. The floor is accessible only to staff and guests and my husband and I knew we were in for a very special weekend from the minute we stepped out of the lift. We stayed in the 'John Hume' suite which was not only luxurious in its surroundings but was very historical feeling with its decor - specific to John Hume himself! We had our anniversary dinner on the first evening and it was delicious - the staff were so friendly and personable with us -its these small wee things that added to the great weekend. Breakfast the morning after did not disappoint either - it has everything you could want. We also spent time in the gym, pool and steam room which was a great way to relax. All in all we had an unforgettable first wedding anniversary in an amazing city centre hotel with the greatest staff we've ever come across. I hope to spend many more wedding anniversaries here!

We stayed in the City Hotel of one night to attend the Walled City Tattoo. We found the hotel to be ideal, great central location with friendly, helpful staff. We had a 'superior' room which benefited from a river view and free morning newspaper, soft drinks, snacks and shaving & dental packs. We enjoyed the hotel's dining offer Two's Company. A meal of two courses (taken from the full A la Carte menu) for 2 people and a bottle of wine - excellent! The hotel's corridors may be lacking in modern decor but that is a mere detail. Would definitely visit the City Hotel again.

Great location!
We had a nice large room with a view of the Peace Bridge and the River as well as the old Walled town. Big, very comfortable king sized bed. No air conditioning but big windows let in the cool evening breezes.

Very friendly service and very good "Ulster Fry" breakfast, Some of the best local restaurants and pubs located close by.

Lots to see and do in town

Room Tip: Ask for a room upgrade, up high with a view

We were attending a function in Derry and decided to stay over. We chose the City Hotel because of its location.
On arrival we found an underground car park and very friendly reception staff - Laura & Chanelle - Happy, Smiley faces willing to have a chat.
We had booked a suite as a treat and the 7th floor is amazing. We staying in the Phil Coulter Suite with lots of memorabilia provided. A jacuzzi bath and his & hers sink really impressed us.
After the most comfortable nights sleep in ages we enjoyed a leisurely breakfast and returned home.
Thanks to all the staff.

Held a national conference in the City Hotel. The delegates, exhibitors and myself received professional treatment from all the staff. They were fantastic, always very polite and friendly and very helpful. Definitley first class service!!

Everyone had a great time. I would recommend the City Hotel as a conference venue. .The location is perfect, the hotel is central, which is ideal when delegates bring partners and friends. the Exhibitors loved the space allocated to them and felt part of the conference.

Many thanks and well done!

On August 10th 2013 I celebrated my wedding reception in the City Hotel. From the offset, I received the utmost professional treatment from all the staff, especially the events team. Planning my wedding from England was a little challenging, however, there was always a kind voice at the end of the phone or email to go through every detail. As the wedding day progressed, I could not fault one person, from the catering staff / porters / front desk /events team to the bar staff etc. Everyone was very accommodating, warm and friendly to both my new husband and I and to all our guests. Everyone had a great time and could not compliment the dinner service enough on the day.
A particular mention to Conor, who is an asset to the City Hotel - extremely efficient and professional!

I managed to stay for a few extra days throughout that week, had a few meals, sampled a few different rooms (even the fab. 7th floor!) and listened/watched two live bands. Once again, every night and every experience was as good as the one before. After I got married, I genuinely did not want to leave the hotel. As anyone would know, the wedding reception is one of the biggest dips into the wedding budget..... well, I can safely say, it was worth every penny!

Whether you are considering getting married there, staying for a night, or just popping in for a meal; I whole-heartedly recommend the City Hotel. Otherwise, you are missing out on a great experience!
Thanks again to everyone for making our day even more special than we could have ever imagined! We hope to see you all again when we next return to Ireland for a visit.
The McNutts.

What a great stay! The rooms are large, clean and the bed was comfortable. There are nice touches like cookies with the tea kettle. The front desk staff was friendly and quite helpful with suggestions and directions. One of the staff even gave me a great recommendation for a "two bridges" morning run. The hotel is well-situated -- close to the Peace Bridge and an easy walk to the sightseeing locations. There is a great work-out room and you could not have a better starting point for a couple good runs. I highly recommend a stay there.

Room Tip: This appears to be a popular place for weddings and functions, so you might want to choose a room on...
