“Derry/Londonderry's 2nd Bridge known as Foyle Bridge”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2013

This new bridge as we call it was built almost 30 years ago , it crosses
over the River Foyle from the roundabout at the end of the city going towards Culmore or the Donegal border and crosses over to the Limavady Road or the main road going to Belfast which
cuts out miles of travelling for people who live in Donegal and people
who live on the cityside who want to travel to the Waterside area of the city or anyone travelling to Belfast, it takes you right out to the main
roads on the Waterside and cuts out about a seven mile drive.
It can be dangerous if there is stormy weather and will be closed to avoid accidents.
The distance from one side of the bridge to the other is approximately
2 miles and it is very high up, it's a dual carriageway. It is free to cross over this bridge . It is not really a tourist attraction at this stage just a quick way to get into or out of this busy city especially in rush hour traffic.
It is well used and could not be done without.
If visiting Derry/Londonderry go and have a walk across the city's 3rd bridge, known as THE PEACE BRIDGE, built and opened in 2012, not
for traffic . It is a beautiful attraction and well worth seeing, don't miss
this beautiful attraction, easy to find, just in front of the Guildhall in the City centre and takes you across the River Foyle to the Waterside area of the city, a short walk, about 6 minutes each way and worth a visit. There is always someone walking on this bridge both daytime and night time.

“Fabulous Foyle Bridge”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2013

I've been over and under this lovely modern bridge.

When travelling from Belfast to Inishowen, the old bridge in the centre of Derry seemed to be taking you slightly out of your way, and there was always the problem of smaller streets and lots of traffic. Since the new Foyle Bridge was opened, it has made the journey much easier.

While passing over the bridge, you can look over towards the city of Derry, and also watch the river traffic moving along the Foyle. A couple of years ago we decided to become one of those visitors on the boats, and joined a trip from the quay in Derry. We passed beneath the Foyle Bridge and it was a great experience.

The bridge has a wind sock at the start, but even in quite high winds we haven't had to detour, just slow down to a sensible speed. There has been some repair work done to the carriageway, and that added a few additional minutes onto our trip, but it's all complete now and things are moving well.

Bridge approach is clearly sign posted and easy to navigate. barriers are cleverly designed so that you can see thru them.

“airy!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013

A vast and airy bridge spanning the Foyle. Very pleasing to the eye and a pleasure to drive over. However, I had to use the bridge to get to the Culmore roundabout in order to travel on to Moville. The roundabout is a fright. It has traffic lights and the lanes are very confusing once you try to navigate around into the appropriate one. A nightmare and I felt a bit scared. The bridge is fantastic...what lies beyond is a car-crash waiting to happen!
