We stayed for one night and had a great time. I had to change our booking a couple of times and the staff were very helpful. Our room was great, bed was massive and really comfortable. The food was really good and not too expensive. The building itself is beautiful as are the grounds. A very cosy, comfortable and welcoming hotel. We booked our night away to chill out and relax, and this hotel did not disappoint, we will definitely be booking another stay.

The beech hill hotel is situated a few miles from the city and although its close enough to be convenient is so peaceful away from noise and pollution. Its locked away in an era past in woodland of beech, ash, sycamore, spruce and more where squirrels run free and trout spash in the protected river that flows nearby. What a wonder view to wake up to and dine looking out onto the water wheel as the pigeons flap to and from the trees, and the smaller wild birds swoop and hop about catching whatever nature has to offer, not forgetting the herons (cranes) posed in the water motionless untill a fish they fancy swims their way. If its colourful Autumn when the air is so fresh or a warm evening in summer. Any time of the year you will be pleasantly delighted enough to pause and take in the surroundings before you go inside the hotel itself.
Just inside you will be welcomed with a warm smile and friendly hospitality. The smell of rich coffee and homemade cooking will make you feel at home. The deeply polished wood on the old fashioned banisters and furniture and the thick colourful patterned carpets create a luxery that can only be bought with time and you will feel that you have entered an era that has been lost forever. Don't let that fool you however as all the modern cons are provided. Several resting rooms are available and the walls are adorned with beautiful paintings and graphic history of the place.you will lose all track of time while a beverage of your choice is served on the antique coffee table, smoothed with years of polishing.
The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to help without being intrusive.
Food is prepared by an experienced chef and servings are generous.
If you want a Peaceful location but yet not too far away from the town or airport then this is for you

A really great night. The food at dinner was out of this world and the staff were fantastic. We had a nice big room, which was well equipped and very clean. Very comfortable bed - so much so that we overslept and nearly missed breakfast (which was also great)! We went to the Beech Hill specifically to see the US Marine Corps Museum and archive they have there, which is well worth a visit. They have a wealth of material in the museum room and in the archive to satisfy the most serious academic or casual history enthusiast. The wi-fi is good and fast, for business travellers. I'd certainly recommend the Beech Hill to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in the Derry-Londonderry area, whether on business or on holiday.

We went for a total chill out and relaxing week-end and were not disappointed. I could not say anything bad as everything was to a very high standard. The staff were so helpful and friendly, the food was fabulous!!!! A very extensive (not expensive) menu was available at all mealtimes. The inside of the Hotel was beautiful. The hotel is in very picturesque grounds with walks, waterfalls and gardens. The beds are soooohhh comfortable, such luxury. I would highly recommend staying here and it is only about a 5minute drive from the city centre. There was a pianist playing on Friday night and this created a beautiful ambience. Compliments to ALL the staff for making this a great place to stay.

I stayed here for three days with business and I could not find fault. The hotel is a gem and worth the visit. It has so much history and the layout of the internal rooms is very unique. The food in the restaurant is amazing value and the breakfast was one of the best I have ever had.

The staff were very friendly and the whole experience was without any issues.

Not really more I can say as I am looking forward to my next visit.

Room Tip: All the rooms I saw were great and very spacious

My husband and I stayed in this hotel a few years ago and we decied to book it again for a weekend break. I contacted the hotel a few weeks before our arrival and asked for a room up grade because I was celebrating a very 'special' birthday, when we arrived we were shown to a small bedroom nothing like the bedroom we stayed in on our last visit and definitely not an up grade!!
Our dinner on Friday night was very enjoyable and breakfast on Saturday morning was varied and very tasty and we had no complaints.
However when we returned to our bedroom on Saturday evening we discovered that our bedroom window had been left wide open and the room was extremely cold. Breakfast on Sunday morning was a disaster. There was one waitress trying her best to serve a very busy dining room. There were people waiting for tables for most of the morning and although this waitress did her very best she was unable to cope with clearing tables, taking orders, serving teas and coffees and delivering the cooked breakfasts...the dining room was definitely under staffed!! We had the same complaints as a previous reviewer....the toaster had to be used 3 times to arrive at anything like toast and the plug for the Christmas decorations definitely would cause a problem with Health and Safety?
On checking out we were charged for a room 'upgrade' when I queried this I was informed that the room we had stayed in was a superior room...I said that if this was a superior room I wouldnt like to see a standard room and that it definitely was not worth the extra cost!!
This was our second visit to Beech Hill Country House Hotel and we are unlikely to be back!!

Having read previous glowing reviews on Beechill House I think we must have gone to the wrong hotel as our stay was most disappointing.

Our room was up three filights of stairs (44 steps) although the the young female receptionist gallantly carried our baggage for us. The room was ok but one of the bedside lamps went off if you walked anywhere near it - it did go back on if you banged the bedside table! We returned to our room on the second day around 2:30pm to find the room still not cleaned, we settled for clean towels which were provided considerably later.

Breakfast on our first day was a shambles. We went down at 9:30am to find the dinning room very busy and one young waitress trying to cope with taking orders and clearing tables - she worked manfully but the task was beyond her. This led to delays in orders, people waiting for tables and an untidy dinning room. Our full Irish breakfast, when it arrived, was poor - the small single slices of potato bread and soda bread had barely been coooked. The toaster was so inefficient that bread had to be cycled 3 times to arrive at anything like toast which added to the general feeling of chaos. We had to go looking for butter and a teacup was missing from the table. Christmas decorations had been erected in the room and a set of lights around the top of the window had been plugged into to a four gang socket which was dangling half way down the window - Health and Safety?

Our package included an evening meal and we were provided with a very limited menu from which to select (not the case in other quality hotels we have stayed at)- we asked to see the full al acarte menu but the costs on this were exorbinant. We selected from the limited menu and our starter of pate was the worst we have every had. In addition there was a sizeable birthday in the dinning roomn which seemed the main preoccupation of the staff and hotel residents seemed to be incidental.

On checking out, when we registered some of our complaints, the ultimate irony was to find that our bill had been charged with two meals and drinks which had nothing to do with us!

Over the past few years we have had many mini breaks both in NI and Eire and it is not in our nature to be overly critical, but this is without doubt our most disappointng experience. This was our first visit to Beechilll House and we are unlikely to be back.
