“Well worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2013

If you are visiting N Ireland, the Cathedral Church of St Columb is a must on your itinerary. You will receive a very warm welcome, information on the historical importance of this church is presented in an easily digestable way. Unfortunately, having spent a considerable amount of money renovating the church, to good effect, a fungus was discovered in the floor and walls of the Chapter House which housed numerous important artifacts. This did not deter the guides who remained cheerful and helpful, displaying a determination to ensure a memorable visit. Remembering that this is also a place of worship, the service on Sunday morning was moving for many reasons not least the quality of the music. Very well worth a visit.

“Very Pretty Outside with Grave Stones”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2013

When my wife and I visited the Cathedral in September 2013, sadly due to renovations we were unable to visit the inside. The Cathedral was erected in 1633 inside the city walls of Derry. The outside is very pretty (a large plot of land), and there are numerous gravestones and statues surrounding the cathedral. Outside the cathedral there is a sign explaining the history of the Cathedral as well.

The main part of the Cathedral is not closed for repairs. It's the Chapter House that is closed at present. The Cathedral is open to visitors from Monday to Saturday, 9.00 am to 5.00 pm on Sundays for Services.

“Missed a concert”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013

When planning our trip I was unable to find the dates of concerts being held at St. Columb's which was unfortunate. We enjoyed the visit as St. Columb's is mentioned in a family history book. It looked so clean and welcoming and quite awe inspiring.

“The Cathedral”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

A historic building, right in the middle of the walled part of the city, overlooking the surrounding area. Small, but tidy. Have no idea why there were battle flags all around inside the cathedral...
