“Memorable experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2012

As a large family we attended a family wedding at this hotel, I can only say it was magnificent! Nothing was too much trouble for the staff they were very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were very comfortable and quiet, we could not hear any corridor noise or music belting out. The breakfast was extremely good with a great choice. Most of the wedding party and guests stayed overnight and everyone enjoyed the experience. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone.

Hi Carol W,
We are so pleased you have taken the time to send in the complimentary comments on your recent visit to the Waterfoot Hotel. I know you were attending a family wedding and feedback overall from the guests was overwhelming! We are delighted so many guests stayed overnight and experienced the great food, service, staff and warm hospitality. Your family were a pleasure to deal with and the wedding was truly magnificent. We do hope to see many of you return to the Waterfoot Hotel again in the future.

On Thursday 31st May my son married the love of his life and they decided that the Waterfoot was their hotel of choice. Well just like his choice of Bride the choice of hotel was superb. A very attentive staff ensured that ever wish came true for not only the Bride and Groom but for every single one of our guests.
They had chosen the menu that allowed everyone a good choice at every course and very generous portions ensured a very contented room full of people bang on time that evening.
After a few hours of dancing the buffet was served, again with military precision and there was enough to feed an army.
I would have no hesitation in recommending the Waterfoot to any couple planning their special day.

Room Tip: With the exceptionally warm weather it was difficult to sleep even with the windows wide open, but t...

Hi Gerry,
Thank you so much for the kind comments received regarding your son's recent wedding. It was a fabulous day and a beautiful wedding. It was evident the wedding guests and bridal party had an amazing day as there was such a great atmosphere and fun amongst everyone. We are delighted to pass on your kind comments to the hard working team as this means so much to them. We are glad all the hard work paid off and you were left with such wonderful memories on this special day.
We look forward to seeing many of you again soon.

Group of 3 between ages 21 and 30. Staying at the Waterfoot Hotel was not in our original plan. We were moved here after a mistake with our original booking. The rooms were nice, but not anything special. We were disappointed to find that the this location did not allow us an easy walk into the city, as it was about 2 miles away. Because of this, we decided to eat at the restaurant. The food was delicious, the service was awful. From when we were seated to when we finally paid the bill, it took over 2 hours. After being annoyed with the restaurant, we meandered back into the snug bar. We loved the snug bar! The bar tenders and fellow patrons were a lot of fun and turned what could have been a disaster of an evening into a fun one. +5 for snug, -2 for the restaurant/wine bar.

I stayed here with my hubby & friends on the recommendation of another friend. On arrival the hotel reception was very welcoming. The staff were friendly & helpful, nothing was too much. We were advised we had been given recently refurbished rooms - this was not the case, the rooms were clean but poorly decorated & very dated.
We were shown to the 'beer garden' it was run down & very tired looking.
The evening meal was nice but the lack of evening entertainment was very disappointing. There were 2 functions on that evening & the music could b heard from our rooms to the wee small hrs!
At breakfast we were offered a full cooked breakfast, however this only consisted of sausages, tomato, beans & black pudding (only the men in our party were given bacon)!! The fresh fruit was a bowl of chopped (possibly tinned) pineapple!!
At the toaster we discovered soda & potato bread, for toasting.
If it hadn't have been for the great staff our stay would have been a complete disaster. I would not recommend this hotel, sadly.

had no where to stay, and stumbled across the Waterfoot. seemed to be in the middle of no where so was a bit leery. The Hotel staff was amazing... so helpful, nice and personable. our room was very clean but old fashioned. i believe they are reno'ing the rooms next as they said the hotel was purchased by new owners. so even tho it was old and dated in the room we stayed in, it was a great place to stay and if we go back to Ireland we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. the price was perfect!!!

Room Tip: ask if they have any updated rooms

Had a great night at the waterfoot for my brother's wedding last weekend...service with a smile despite the rowdy crowd. Food was tasty and service was very prompt. The reception was very stylish and got a lot of great pics in and around the hotel as well. Very well laid out wedding facility with an elegant reception area and bar and the function room itself looked amazing. Couldn't fault it at all and would highly recommend a visit.
