“Surprise in Newcastle”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2014

Looking for somewhere to eat a late breakfast in Newcastle this morning , everything on Main Street was very run down or uninspiring, then we stumbled upon niki's. What a surprise. Right by the Donrad carpark and on the main seafront so excellent location. Bright, modern, clean and really buzzing! Food all looked excellent so had a hard time to choose, I went for lunch option of roasted peeper soup with divine homemade bread, husband went for a pepper steak wrap, fantastic, will be back, recommend other highly, great staff, friendly!!

“Disappointed and will not be back”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2014

Can't believe I gave this place a five star review a few years ago. Just had the large breakfast. One of the rashers of bacon was burnt, both had the texture of rubber, the sausages had burst out of the skins and tasted cheap, the soda and potato bread hadn't been fried but appeared to have been dipped in and out of a pan and the toast was black around the crusts. There was also no offer of a coffee refill from the waitresses. The place looks well but the food doesn't match up

“A little gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2014

Having parked our car in the Slieve Donard car park we were on our way to book an evening meal in another establishment when we noticed Niki's kitchen cafe. Coffee called and we went in to find a well laid out , comfortably furnished cafe with views over the sea. As the cafe has two levels, my husband chose the upper level and some comfortable seating.
I chose our coffee and tea and had to deny myself the superb range of 'goodies' which graced the cool cabinet. Settling for an old favourite, the 15, I made my way up a few steps to our seat. There was a very pleasant atmosphere in the cafe and we noticed that one if the waitresses was coming round with top up coffee. A good sign in my book. A very pleasant half hour and we will certainly be back again on our next visit to Newcastle.
