“Awful, stay somewhere else”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2013

We had an awful experience staying in this hotel. The radiators in the room were on all night and the room was so warm that you couldn't sleep, you couldn't even open the window because of the noise outside. Even worse they turned off the radiators so when you got up it was cold. The bar area had an open fire and was awful smelly, there was no atmosphere in the bar area, although the food was nice in the bar. It says free wifi in the hotel but wifi can't be got in the rooms. There was a fault (which we figured out later with the switch that turns on the shower, it was flickering and because of this the water was freezing and we had to result to a cold shower, not good! Both nights we were there there was music and it was extremely loud, we had been informed that this was the case for the Saturday night, but there was no mention of anything being on on the Sunday night. There was a Halloween party, which ended a LOT later than it should have, the noise was unreal, shouting and roaring in the street right outside our bedroom window and at 4.30am, somebody tried to come into our bedroom, banging on the door, and only left when my husband shouted to go away. This was a terribly scary thing to experience. We addressed our concerns about the previous night to the staff at breakfast, the girl took our name and number and promised the manager would call us later that evening. She even asked us to pay for the entire bill from the previous night. Of course nobody called us, how bad is that. What surprises me is that other guests were complaining that morning too, they must not have left feedback. I could not recommend this hotel to anyone and would definitely not return again. They see to apologise for things but don't do anything about it.

Stayed here for two nights on a groupon deal on the 24th and 25th of October. Room was okay but with frayed towels and a cracked shower tray. Also rubbish from our room left outside our room when we returned from a day out after a morning with no breakfast as no one in the hotel when we went for breakfast at 9. The hall and reception was in total darkness. Not a sign of life, waited over half an hour with no sign of a single member of staff. Complained that evening that we had to buy breakfast elsewhere. Fobbed off and told owner would talk to us in the morning. Needles to say owner never appeared though we got breakfast the second morning and the lady that served us was pleasant. Turns out the owner was the person who cooked breakfast but never came be near us. The lady took our numbers after we explained the fiasco of our first morning and was surprised to discover she knew about it. Never heard anything more and they have had nearly 2 weeks to get back to us. Could not recommend this hotel to anyone, worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Such a pity as it is in a lovely area with loads to do. Also had to figure out where to go in the event of a fire myself, no map on door as is the norm, and when we discovered no staff in the place over night was worrying.

My Wife took me here a "Treat" for 2 nights B&B. The pillows were smelly in our room. The worse part was in the morning when we went down for breakfast at 8am as we were told. My Wife and I were joined by 2 other guest from New Zealand. We found the dining room in darkness and the were no members of staff around, At 8:40am a member of staff came in. We discovered that the only people in the "Hotel" overnight were the guests. His reaction was amazing. He said " I didn't think anyone would be up so early." He then said he would make some tea and coffee. Later he came back and asked if we wanted tea and coffee! He told us to help ourselves corn flakes etc. I drew to his attention that there was none! He came back with a trolley and told us to help ourselves. I had to go to the kitchen to tell him there were no bowls. He ten asked us if we would really like something off the breakfast menu! The breakfast was barely edible. Sausages and eggs were burned, no toast. I was waiting for Basil Fawlty to walk in. I decided that we would not be staying another night. When I returned the keys and informed him of this, he just said "OK, take care". This place could be Ulster's answer to Fawlty Towers!

Room Tip: Avoid this place

Stayed one night on walking tour of causeway coast. Had a room at the front of the inn, facing the street, but it was wasn't busy so no problem with traffic noise. However the curtains were very thin and let in the street lighting and light above the hotel entrance. Also there was a function with music in the dining room immediately below my room till about 10.30. Basic room, nothing out of the ordinary, and had to get a member of staff to change the bulb in the reading light so I could read a book. They only seem to have one person on duty front of house at any one time, who has to check in the guests, man the bar, serve the meals and take care of minor housekeeping like the light bulb mentioned above. The best part was the food - a very good sizzling chilli beef.

We stayed here for two nights and cannot recommend this hotel highly enough, Bobby and his colleagues were great, really friendly and made us feel right at home. The menu and food were excellent, a really high standard and breakfast kept us going all day! Our bedroom was spacious and very clean, the bed really comfortable, we didn't hear any noise at all despite there being live music in the bar. Location is ideal, you can walk to the rope bridge and the Giants Causeway is only a 10 minute drive away, as is Bushmills Distillery.
We will definitely stay here again and would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Room Tip: We were in room 9 and we never heard a sound from the bar despite live music being played

We spent 2 nights recently in the Fullerton Arms and had a wonderful time, the room was spacious and spotless, the staff couldn't have been nicer, the food in the bar was lovely and the location was perfect for visiting the Giants Causeway and the Rope Bridge. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone..
