“So much variety!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2012

A great way to spend a few hours. This market has everything: from food to clothing, jewelry, art, and trinkets, there is something for everyone, and all is made locally. They also had live music when I was there, which was nice. I bought my mom some great souvenir mugs here - she liked them so much she won't use them!

“Fabulous way to spend a few hours.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2012 via mobile

I think this might be the best thing about Belfast - the Sunday maket is great. So many stalls with local producers and traders. Lots of variety of things to buy. A great selection of foods - everything from curry to sausage baps, exquisite cake and bread stalls, Lebanese cuisine and crepes! The love music makes the atmosphere lovely - it really is worth a visit.

“Saturday market”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2012

The saturday market, a departure from the weekday fruit and veg market, is worth a visit. There were a range of foods, art work, t shirts and everything in between. A good place for some unique Christmas presents.

“The market changes”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2012

St Georges Market or just 'the market' to locals has changed with the City it serves. It used to be a down at heel variety market with stalls of second hand clothes, crockery, jewelry and whatever. A cup of tea and a Belfast 'bap' was the height of the catering. Now there is still some of the old market feel on a Friday, where, as well as 'variety', the locals and the local Chinese flock to buy their fish. On Saturdays and Sundays it is all arts and crafts and jazz bands, different but pleasant nonetheless. Still plenty of locals but you know a Belfast venue in thrall to tourism when you see the dreaded TITANIC everywhere you turn.On all three days there are two gourmet treats to be had and these are rare in Belfast street food: the vegetarian spinach and cheese crepe from La Creperie, and a cup of coffee from the Java Man. There are still Belfast 'baps' and filled sodas - filled with our fried favourites, bacon, egg and sausage for those who want to eat like the locals.

“A real gem of a market”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

St Georges market is open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, and each day is different.
Friday is a variety type flea market, selling all sorts of goods, fruit, veg and fish.
Saturday is more of a food and garden market, olives, breads, cakes, bric a brac etc.

Sunday is my favourite market, It has lovely laid back atmosphere, the big emphasis is on local food, you can choose from paella, vegeterian, indian currys, fry ups, amazing crepes, and local made breads and cup cakes, Live music is on, and there are plenty of tables and chairs to sit and relax or just watch the world go by, also there is an amazing array of local craft stalls selling everything from hand made silver jewellery, to hand weaved linen, knitted goods, paintings, clothes etc, its as good as Covent garden, also are antiques and beautiful hand painted furniture, definaly well worth a visit, and in a beautiful victorian covered building
Open on Sundays from 10am which is handy as the shops dont open until 1pm
