“Rose week”

This place is so well maintained and a visit during International Rose Week is well worth the effort. or at least in the weeks leading up to it.

“Arboreal excellence with a wonderful play park, beautiful walks, river and proximity to Belfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2012

This is my nearest park. With a 7 year old who has been coming since age 2, it's a place of dreams. The Faraway Tree is located through the back of the kids park. Head right and you will find it. - a magical space. Head straight on from here & you'll see the pretty fountain and the walled garden nearby. There are 2 car parks. A handy café is located at the 2nd entrance (heading out of town). Plenty of space, paths, gazebos and roses. A lovely place to picnic, coffee, run, walk, cycle or just sit. The riverside walk can be accessed from the lower car park. Lisburn one way, Stranmillis & Belfast, the other. Don't drive past, pull in.

“Dog muck!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2012

Why do so many dog owners allow their pets to crap all over the place? My friend's toddler was beside us on the grass and rolled into dog muck. Yuck!
