My sister and I chose to stay in Malmaison for one night as we were at the Smokie concert. We were on the secret Sunday deal for £10 for a twin room when you spend £75 on food or drink in the brassiere. I was aware that there is no hotel parking and we chose to park in a car park behind the hotel, which was in total £11.00 from 3pm until 10am the next morning. Seemingly Sundays can be quieter and sometimes if you are lucky you can park in front of the hotel.
The receptionists were welcoming and our room was lovely. Very clean, yes the hotel and the room is dark but that is their style. We went down to Shane in the bar for cocktails... very nice winter wonderland and rum and raisin.. highly recommended. He was very attentive and give us excellent service. Next into Paul in the brassiere for our dinner. I teach catering and was very impressed. The food was very delicious and there is much thought and skill going into each dish. The service was excellent and we left very contented to go to our concert. Breakfast served by Michael was perfect. The order is taken at your table and all homecooked. Beautiful grilled leek and pork sausages are a part of the breakfast. I am fussy but have to say I could not have complained about anything. The staff are very friendly and in my eyes very good ambassadors of our wonderful hospitality we have to offer in Northern Ireland. Ignore all the poor reviews, go and enjoy!!!! Well done Malmaison, I will return.
