90% GREAT. 5%average.5% Could be better.
First the 90% The reception staff were really friendly and helpful and, when asked, were even willing to recommend another establishment in which to eat (Red Panda, Chinese). Foyer and rooms were very clean and chic. Food was VERY good. Overall the hotel is a great place to stay and I would highly recommend it.
The 5% average. food and drink prices are what you would expect to pay in a city center. As it is quite a large hotel most of the time you are "just another customer"(don't let that put you off though).
The 5% Could do better. The Car parking is a real problem. There is no air-con in the rooms so ours was VERY warm and noise from the street prevents you leaving the windows open.

Will we go back ? YOU BET WE WILL. overall a great place to stay.

So refreshing to stay in a different style of hotel, it oozes class, the staff were on the whole very helpful, the only one with exception was the sour-faced waitress in the cocktail bar, its a tourist attraction in itself - just to see if she smiles ; - )
The rooms were simply but stylishly furnished and an added extra of digital tv is always helpful.
Great location for everything in belfast.

Just back from a weekend in Belfast where we stayed in The Malmaison.Fabulous hotel, first time staying in Malmaison chain and i cant recommend them enough.Having stayed in many hotels and also worked in many as well, i found the rooms great(got a good deal for Sup Dble Rm) and the staff bending over backwards to help you, from barstaff supplying their own umbrellas to us, to the hotel restaurant taking a late booking because a city restaurant let us down.
First hotel i have been in where all the staff seem actually very happy and quite proud that they work there.

“Great Deal - Great Hotel”

Malmaison

Aug 8, 2006

I'm just back from a weekend in Belfast and I stayed at Malmaison. Really liked it.
Staff were professional, polite, friendly and courteous.
Every need was catered for. If I phoned up and asked for anything it was brought to my room in a matter of minutes. Facilities were great. Bed comfortable as were the surroundings and furnishings. Location was excellent for me.
One little thing... there were a few stains on the carpet in my room. (Semi-expected as the carpets are beige). I got a great online deal on the malmaison website £75 per night. Check it out if you are planning to stay.

I had read a few mixed reviews on this site about Malmaison Belfast but I have to say I have no idea why this hotel would get a bad review - it is pure indulgence!!!
The staff were very friendly and nothing appeared to be too much trouble. The rooms are fantastic and the bed divine - I had a very very comfortable nights sleep. My only complaint, and this is a personal thing, was that the pillows were too soft, but I have no doubt that had i contacted Reception they would have been replaced.

I highly recommend this hotel for a wonderful sumptuous weekend away in the heart of Belfast city
