Visited this lovely little restaurant last night with a friend. Location in St Anne's Square is good and provides a clean pleasant aspect with a good summer buzz from all the restaurants in this area. As the tables for two were pretty small...ok for morning / afternoon coffee...we asked for a slightly bigger table. We were given one straight away. We shared two starters, the ham hock and the goats cheese. Both were lovely but would perhaps have liked a little more dressing on the salad. My friend had the ribs and said she had never eaten ribs before but they were beautiful and she would definitely have them again. I had the risotto, (after making sure there was no cream used in it) and it was truly delicious. If I had any criticism I would have liked it a little less dry...just personal preference. I got a helping of chips which were really good and the helping was more than generous. Coffees to follow were illy which is my favourite and Johanna gave us ice cream ( creamy and tasty) with a slice of carrot cake. We took our own wine and were more than happy to pay £2.50 corkage. A real bargain for an evening meal that doesn't trade quality or quantity for price. But a restaurant isn't all about the food... The staff anf their attitude is also important and Johanna and Daryl couldn't have been more helpful or pleasant. They excel in their people skills without being obtrusive and really make you look forward to going again to this wonderful little cafe/ restaurant. They deserve all the success that will surely come their way and I, for one, will return soon.
