“Fabulous food and service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2013 via mobile

So pleased we chose this place. The food was amazing and incredibly good value. Service was excellent.
The only thing was there was other stuff going on in the mac and the dining tables aren't separated that well in the space. More an architectural oversight.

“Great food .Great price.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2013 via mobile

Visited with a friend for a late lunch. Menu was balanced and interesting with some Old Favourites for the less adventurous .Execution was first class. The chunky chips were par excellence. The chicken Piri salad a real winner. The Americano coffees were truly world class !! Great food and great value .The female waitress was a tad snippy(I was scolded for having the Menu open at the 'wrong' page ) but once Paul the Manager stepped in Service was warm and silky smooth.Paul is the consummate professional with polished customer skills !

“Overpriced”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2013 via mobile

Visited with parents after having a look around the exhibitions at the mac. The venue is fantastic however the next time I visit I will not waste my money in the canteen. Almost £15 for 3 cups of coffee and a scone. They are definitely trying to make up for not charging an admission fee but they can only loose out on this as people will just go elsewhere rather than be ripped off.

“Great venue shame about the overpriced food and drink”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2013 via mobile

This is a brilliant venue for music which is why I have rated it very good rather than average.
It's a real shame they have overpriced the cafe and bar. It has everything else going for it

“Sum the MAC up in one word... "Excellent"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013

Firstly, don't let the name "Canteen" put you off, I don't know why they named it this? All I can say is its a proper restaurant which serves wonderful food from lite-bites to hearty lunches with a nice choice of wines, soft drinks, tea & fresh coffee.

Beyond its excellent & affordable menu The MAC has a nice atmosphere where you can sit by the window and watch the world go by or if you prefer a bit of privacy, the restaurant can offer you a booth. I think what sets The MAC off for me is it's delightful staff... they are professional, charming and very attentive. Its a perfect location for catching up with a friend over lunch without breaking the bank. I can't fault this place... 10/10
