“Disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2012

As visitors to Belfast we didn't realise until we were sat down that there was a child's play area as part of the restaurant. That's okay as long as the children stay in there but not when they start running around the restaurant itself. The food was okay as was the service.

“Very much a shopping mall restaurant- but has declined”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2012

Spur Steak and Grill is aptly located, it is good for young families and shoppers and less about dining but more convenience.
The cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired and service can be hit and miss. I went more when it first opened as it seemed to be more set out to impress back then but since then it has declined significantly. The food options are poor and the last occasion I got the opposite of what i had ordered after an extremely long wait. The lighting is dark and not for atmophere i fear, but more to hide a multitudes of sins and omissions.
Food also has declined, there seems to be something more lacking from the actual taste of the food than there had been originally also.

“Bad service, mediocre food”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2012

In a last-minute attempt to get some quick easy food, a couple of friends and myself decided the food looked good and it was mexican night so why not get some sangria?! Where to begin...the service seemed good... there was no fruit for the sangria so that was the first disappointment of the evening but the waitress was very apologetic about it and told us the cocktail specials. Happy enough.

An hour later and there was a lady walking over with our food. Hallelujah! But it was the wrong order. Instead of apologizing for the lengthy wait, and apologizing the waitress informed us that that was in fact what we ordered and we were wrong! For some reason the person who took our order thought that my friend and I ordered two main meals each. Fajita's and enchilada's! They took one of each away and still left us with what we didn't order. It was an 'eat now or starve for another hour' moment so we ate what we were given. I did of course voice this. This was greeted by getting another two waitresses over to discuss how it was 'pretty much the same'.

I have never experienced such bad service in my life. The food was mediocre and the wait was ridiculous! I would seriously discourage anyone from eating in this establishment and I would seriously encourage them to re-evaluate their staff! Disgrace.

“Grand for lunch”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2012

Nipped in here for a lunch when we were in town.

Food was nice enough, had a chicken fillet burger.

The staff were friendly, another table had a birthday and they sang a little song which brought a smile to everyone's face.

Cola refills were free, which was great as it was getting a bit clammy (the sort of day when you wear a coat as it is cold rain outside but the shops all have the heating on).

Seems to be good for families with a televised play area for their offspring.

Guess they could've had the lunch specials on at the weekend, the bill was a little pricey for lunch.

“Disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2012

We saw this restaurant and thought of our Spur back in South Africa and simply had to try it. This was so disappointing, the service was good but the steak was poor. We had steak, chips and onion rings. I could not fault the chips and onion rings, they were hot and fresh, however the steak was so thin, irish bacon slices are thicker than the steak we received. This Spur in Belfast needs to have a taste of the Spur's steak in South Africa, where real beef steak is served.
