“Was nice and family friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2012

Nice hotel friendly staff and nice breakfast.. Theres a great pub just across the road that does a nice breakfast and it's cheap ( the bridge) the beers r cheap to but u can't buy it till 1130.

If ur thing of going to see northen Ireland. Hire a car and drive up the coast yourself to the rope bridge and the giants causeway way better then getting a bus tour.. U see way more coz car can go where the buses can't.

Well worth it...

Thank you for kind comments in your review of the hotel. They will be passed along to the team.

Completely agree about taking a trip over to the Giants Causeway and rope bridge, it is a fantastic drive along the Antrim Coast. The Rope Bridge is a must and the Giants Causeway, unique.

Drive a little further and you can visit the Bushmills brewery and Port Rush just a few miles further to make a full day of it.

Don't forget we have the Titanic Exhibition in Belfast itself and the feedback I am getting from our guests is that it is a world class exhibition.

Hopefully we will welcome you back soon.

Kind regards

Iain

Me and my boyfriend stayed in this hotel for 2 night and found it extremely satisfying! Nice atmoshphere, clean and nicely decorated room. Perfect location - everything at the tip of your fingers. Staff was very friendly and no fuss while checking-in or checking-out.

Would recommend!

Room Tip: 411 was perfect!

Excellent hotel, real value for money, staff go above and beyond to help, rooms well maintained and very clean , food improving and adding more local flavour.

Location is very good with city one way and bars the other. Would not hesitate to stop again or recomend staying here.

Room Tip: Suggest back rooms during the week and front rooms during the weekend to avoid noise.

Thank you very much for taking the time to post your review and for your positive comments.

I was particularly happy to read your comments about the staff and the food. We have a genuinely friendly team who want to ensure a great stay for our customers and it is always a boost to us when this is recognised.

As you say we have been working on our food offering and bringing in local produce and Anthony and his team in the kitchen have spent a lot of time sourcing great local beef, seafood, duck, ham and chicken from local farms.

I will ensure you comments are passed on and we hope to welcome you back soon.

Kind regards

Iain

4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2012

Stayed here for 5 nights in May 2012
A few minor things you could find fault with, but overall, good location, pleasant staff, and comfortable room. If I had to be picky, the fried eggs at breakfast were a bit hit and miss, and my shower was not the easiest to turn on and off. However, I have stayed at much worse hotels. and I stay in many hotels.
Some of the reviews I read did not appear to be of the Hotel I stayed at. eg some one said it was tired and needed refurbishing. It was obvious that it had recently had a makeover. I spend more than 30 % 0f the average year in Hotels and if they were all like the Holiday Inn Belfast I would be quite happy.
Would stay here again. Its a good hotel, good location, and comfortable rooms .
What more do you need!

Thank you for taking the time to post a review, it is really appreciated.

We're delighted you enjoyed your stay with us, we find we are very popular with the longer stayers due to being the only hotel in Belfast with a swimming pool and full size health club.

I note your comments about the fried eggs and have passed them to Shaun our Breakfast Chef as an area we need to tighten up on. The shower issue relates to a small proportion of our showers and they are in the process of being replaced.

Thank you again for your constructive notes and we hope to welcome you back to the HIB in the very near future.

Kind regards

I've stayed at this hotel several times now on work trips and it's my top choice.

Best things are the genuinely friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms, the gym with swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi, and the location which is just a few minutes walk from the city centre, Belfast City Halls and the Crown bar.

I only have minor quibbles: service at breakfast is a bit hit and miss and I reckon they could stretch to a biscuit with the tea and coffee).

Overall, a really great hotel in a wonderful location with a warm welcome.

A well situated Hotel close to Belfast City Centre and with easy walkng distance of shops, Restaurants, Bars etc. The Hotel rooms are well furnished and having stayed here twice recently I encountered no problems whatsoever. The Hotel (like most City Hotels) does not have it's own parking but has a discount arrangement with nearby parking. The breakfast buffet is the usual choice of Cereals, fruit, croissant, bacon sausage egg etc and is good value if you prepay the night before for a discount. The Hotel boasts a Health Centre with swimming Pool etc.
All in all this is a well located comfortable Hotel.

I stayed in this hotel on Sunday 6th May 2012 before the Belfast marathon on Monday 7th May. The receptionist was very pleasant when i checked in. My room was a standard double room with plenty of space and a fab shower. Rooms were clean and beds very comfortable. Breakfast was not included in the price of the room. The hotel was within walking distance of cityhall where the mamrthon started from so ideal location to stay in if you are participating in the future.
