Yum! Yum! Having not been to the Sole Seafood Restaurant before we were a bit anxious when we arrived to an empty restaurant. But we need not have worried! It soon filled up with an expectant crowd. Its a BYO affair so we started our wine while waiting for our friends who had recommended it to arrive. This gave us time to study the extensive menu on the wall. This caused me a lot of trouble, it was one of the best seafood menus I had seen in a long time and was difficult to choose. Gorgeous seared scallops to start followed by a trout fillet on top of a sublime risotto with smoked salmon, pea & mint and finished off with a luxurious lemon posset.
The other starters at the table included fried whitebait and fishcakes, both declared to be excellent. Mains included a special of 1/2 lobster with a garlic butter and chips, poached smoked haddock and a whole sea bass with basil mash. All in all a great success. Will definatley be going again.
