“Perfection”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

As a family, we reserved a table in the Allotment bistro, hoping that it would reflect the importance of a major celebration. We were certainly not disappointed!
The menu is varied and interesting. The ambience is one of friendliness, comfort and relaxation, helped to a great degree by the willingness to interact of the owner, a congenial man who often checked up on our level of satisfaction.
Upon chatting to him after the meal, it came as no surprise to find out that he was formerly executive head chef of a major hotel.
When the bill came, I thought there was some mistake as I have often paid substantially more for inferior offerings. We truly wanted to pay MORE !
I cannot recommend highly enough this restaurant for a top quality dining experience.

“Worst breakfast ever”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013 via mobile

Ate breakfast in the allotment one Saturday morning. We ordered poached eggs and toast and a fry. The poached eggs were terribly overcooked and the toast was rock hard and cold. My boyfriend said the fry was the worst he ever had, the bacon even seemed to be deep fried. We were the only people in the place so it's not like the kitchen was under pressure to put food out. We still had to wait nearly 30 minutes though.

“One of the freshest places you will ever eat!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2013

My wife booked this restaurant from Tripadvisor reviews so I am unbiased in my opinions. The place is just down from the trendier places to eat, and from the outside you might pass without a second glance. All I can say is make sure you go as it is one if the best places to eat in Northern Ireland.
The staff were attentative, the food was as fresh as the ingredients from my garden and what's more - BYO wine!
Will not hesitate in returning.

“Not impressed.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013 via mobile

Was really looking forward to trying this restaurant and the fresh produce they had to offer. However, was very disappointed with the result. Many of our meals were served in the same celery-based sauce and we did not feel it was good value for money. However, the service was the worst part of our dining experience. In the end, we had to tell the staff to forget about the desserts we had ordered 45 mins earlier, not to mention another 20 minute wait just to pay the bill. It is a shame this place wasn't better. It has potential but I'm afraid there are so many better restaurants in Belfast.

“A Great Dining Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

Visited Allotment in July for a friend's birthday meal. Eight people in total who had a variety of dishes from the menu. Everyone had an excellent dining experience. The food was really delicious. Staff were very accommodating and 'Bring Your Own' meant that the cost was really reasonable. Have booked to take 2 friends along this Friday.
