Stormont Castle is a lovely place to spend a day out whether you live in Belfast or a visitor. The guided tour is very informative and the grounds and rooms of this grand place are beautiful! A little history lesson without being boring, loved it!
Stormont Castle was built by the throne after Northern Ireland was partiitioned from Ireland in the 20's. Very nice great hall and beautiful grounds. It has been the seat of government since.
This was the highlight of our trip to Belfast. The trees were resplendent in their autumnal livery and the sun was shining away without a cloud in the sky - it couldn't have been a more perfect day to enjoy the grounds and history around the castle and parliament.
Highly recommended for an enjoyable stroll and to take in the stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
Driving up to Stormont Castle is rather impressive. It is a long building built on the heights. While we viewed it from the gates below and at a distance, we were taken with the park setting and the long avenue of lime trees on either side. The park is open for walking and it is a quiet, serene setting. If architecture is your interest, you will want to view Stormont. If you like beautiful settings, you'll love the lime trees and the park. Photo op for sure.
Only got to drive past the building. Driveway was impressive, and we got to stop to take a few snaps.
