“Don't confuse this with the Giant's CAUSEWAY”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2013

Some silly people below are mixing the two up. They are VERY different in quite a few ways, namely:

The Giant's RING- A a big man-made pagan structure, a short drive out of Belfast.

The Giant's CAUSEWAY- Famous, on all the postcards. It's coastal rock formation about 1 hour outside of Belfast.

You are advised against visiting either at night, for different reasons....

“Beautiful coastal scenery”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2013

Went here with Go Ahead Tours while in Belfast, apparently the legend is that giants built this causeway hundreds of years ago. it was a lot of rocks, crashing waves, and people climbed on the rocks, which I think is a bit undangerous. definitely worth seeing while in Northern Ireland

“Spectacular”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2013

The causeway is spectacular, it has a center that explains what geological forces created the formation and an animated version of the myth. The road is narrow getting there and there is a bit of a hike to get to the causeway, but there is a bus to go back which is good.

“Not worth the trip”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

I took two middle aged Spanish men on a trip to the Giants Ring yesterday. They were very disappointed. Firstly the bus stop is nowhere near if you are coming from the city centre. Then walking from Shaws Bridge it is not well signposted at all. Then finally when you get there it is a massive letdown. There are hundreds of Neolithic tombs in Northern Ireland, just because this one is surrounded by mounds of land does not make it any better.

“Beautiful, Peaceful Space”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

This is a gorgeous place to visit on a sunny day; magical and peaceful. When we were there, the sun was out and the weather was pleasant; joggers were using the outer edge and many folks were there with their dogs for a little post-work amble. In the center is the cairn, which is very evocative and lovely.

There were very few visitors here, which was both refreshing and a little sad. On the one hand, it's nice that this site isn't crawling with thousands of trash-leaving, noisy people, but on the other, the ones who might really get something out of it are missing something rather special.
