Have walked up to the very top hard going but worth it. The views from the top are amazing. There are places to sit on the way up if you need a breather. I think that people should keep their dogs on leads as a lot of dogs meeting each other were fighting and it also scares the kids. Councill need to enforce that law.
love to walk around the grounds of this place the view is brilliant when you get to the top of the cave hill mountain spend the day walking all over the area pack a picnic
It's a bit of a climb even in good weather but the end result is totally worth it. The view over Belfast is fantastic. You will have fun searching for the local landmarks from here. Take care with the kids or your dog as there is no fence and the edge could prove to be dangerous if you are not careful.
I started this walk from the Belfast Castle car park and followed the green cave hill route. The route isn't overly difficult although it can get a little slippery at times without the appropriate footwear. The views the whole way up and at the top are excellent. On a clear day the views are worth the climb. A little windy at the top but you can easily sit and have a picnic. Well worth the climb! Belfast Castle is also lovely to walk around at the end of the climb.
All the same area as the Zoo, leads to Blacks mountain, adventurous playground and Belfast Castle. Excelent area to visit, this walk up the Cave Hill is a challenge but the view when you get to the top is amazing.
