“Friendly staff, good service, good location, BUT!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2010

Despite the good points, our stay (for four nights last Friday till yesterday) was spoiled by noises from outside our room ( a constantly humming fan, late night revellers in corridor, but mainly noise from the street).
When originally booking the accommodation on the phone a couple of weeks beforehand, I made a point of asking for a room at the back of the hotel, to avoid noise from the street and the disco/bar downstairs. The receptionist confirmed that this would be provided. However, when we checked in and got to our room, we discovered that the room was to the front of the hotel (third floor). I immediately returned to reception to rectify this, but was told that there were no rooms available at the back...so straight away I knew we had a problem...
Even with the windows closed ,the racket going on outside the hotel till around 3 a.m. each night was unbelievable. It sounded like the Annual Yobs Convention was being held on the doorsteps of the hotel with shouters and chanters trying to out-do each other.
Bad as Saturday night was, our last night ( Monday night/ Tuesday morning just gone)was the worst. I think we would have had more peace and quiet if we had pitched a tent in the centre circle of Ibrox Park during a Rangers v. Celtic match!

If you are a late-night reveller and want to be where the action is, this is a good spot to stay, but if you want a good night's sleep in preparation for an early start the next day, don't stay here...not at the front of the hotel, anyway!

Stayed with my boyfriend on the package deal including dinner and room service breakfast.
Room was a good size and very clean, bathroom is a bit dated and the tv was small and a pain to figure out how to use it.
The meal in the restaurant was ok could have been better but as it was included we couldn't complain too much, the breakfast was lovely and bought to our room at a time to suit us.
The staff were really friendly and the hotel bar has a really nice atmosphere open till 3am for residents
It was in a good location quite a walk to the centre but only £3-£4 in a taxi.

Met at check in by receptionist (Jennifer) who was very frinedly and made us feel very welcome. Room was lovely, but TV bit small and hard to use.
Breakfast was really well presented and the homemade breakfast sauce was yummy!!
We will be back again as it was a great weekend made even better by a great hotel.
Would totally recommend!!

My mother and I had dinner at Madisons (purely by chance as Metro was closed) and were not expecting the food or service to be up to much. To our surprise, it was simply fantastic!! We chose to order from £12.95 menu, which entitled us to a starter, main and a glass of wine. The menu was so varied that we had trouble choosing just one dish each!! We settled for bread with oils and a fish cake to start, both of which were great. Main courses were equally as good and even with bloated stomachs, we couldnt stop eating. There were only two waiting staff on but they were helpful and very pleasent and the food arrived promptly and was very well presented. I most certainly will be back to Madisons and would advise everyone to give it a try.

Took my son to visit Queens University and booked this hotel for its location.

The hotel is attached to a lovely bar and is an excellent postion in Belfast, being close to the University and the City Centre.

Staff were extremely friendly and the food was first class. Room was very modern and spotlessly clean and my only gripe was the extractor fan from the kitchen (next door I believe) which was extremely noisy late into the night. Saying that I will return, but maybe ask for a room at the other side of the building!

Thank you to the staff for making us so welcome on our first visit to Belfast!

This is the second time I have stayed in this hotel. I really love it. Its in a perfect location. I like to go walking about at night and this hotel is surrounded by coffee shops, restaurants and bars. The service was first class. The food is beautiful and the cocktails at the bar were only £3! If your visiting Belfast and want to be in close proximity to the city centre and night life then this is the place for you.
