A group of 4 girls visited the hotel on Saturday night for a girlie night away. We arrived early at 12.30pm and the girl at reception did her utmost to get us checked in as quickly as possible. As we work in reception ourselves at a hotel in Omagh, we know this isn’t always possible but the lady on reception was very helpful. We had our lunch in the hotel and they have a £6.95 offer which includes a main course and a glass of wine or pepsi but of course we opted for the wine (Great Value for money and very tasty!!!). After this we were swiftly checked into our rooms which were allocated next to one another which was great and we didn’t even request it.
We stayed in the hotel for our evening meal and even though the restaurant was very busy that evening they did everything they could to get us a table. Once again the food was great and so tasty.
After a few hours out in Belfast we returned to the hotel. Admission to the night club was free which was a nice resident perk- the music was quite good but I think the manager needs to work on getting a younger clientele into the nightclub- apart from ourselves the age range was 35 and upwards. This would be the only downside.
Cocktails were to die for – I need to mention the archangel in particular – beautiful!! After coming back up from the nightclub we stayed in the residents bar for a few hours and enjoyed good banter with Dave and Cormac in particular who made our stay that bit more enjoyable.
The breakfast situation is a bit strange in the hotel- there is no breakfast table with the usual cereals, bread etc and residents have to pay a £2 supplement if they want a larger cooked breakfast which I think is unfair as we paid for ‘bed & breakfast’ but we weren’t charged for this in the end. In saying this the breakfast was beautiful.
All in all, we had an extremely enjoyable stay at Madison’s hotel, from the rooms to the staff which are an asset to the hotel, we shall definitely be back. But I think the manager should look at the breakfast situation closely and perhaps publicising to a younger crowd would be beneficial to the hotel.
