I recently stayed at the hotel in a twin room (one double and a single). The room was in the converted attic part of the hotel and had an on suite with a bath/shower (running off the hot water system). The room had wooden flooring. There was a small tv in the room.

Good Points
We arrived very early 9am and were not able to check in but the owner got the room ready as quickly as possible when asked.
Friendly owners.
Good breakfast (tasty).
Nice area good parking and £1.30 one way into city centre on bus or £5.50 in a taxi.

Bad points
There was some confusion over our early arrival. An email was sent and confirmation received yet on our arrival we had to wait for our room.
The attic room heating was cooler than the rest of the house and the radiator did not get hot enough (although being June the Weather was not very good). This was not mentioned to the owners as we were out all day so could not tell you what they would have done.
Only a small bar of soap in the bedrooms (shower gel would have been nice)

Overall i enjoyed the stay and would recommend the B and B. The price is fair, the people are nice and you can go very wrong when choosing a place to stay.

Belfast tips

The bus tour is very good - the wall murals around the city are amazing and it is very good to have someone explain fully the history of the city.

Also go onto the SS Nomadic which was the small vessel which transported passengers to the Titanic. It now is a museum which information and exhibit from the Titanic.

We stayed two nights at Somerton House in May. The B&B is located in a quiet residential area just north of Belfast, an easy drive into the city. It’s not walking distance to anything interesting, but we liked being away from the downtown area. There are two parking spots in front of the B&B and lots of parking on the street, so we had no trouble with parking. The public spaces in the B&B are pleasant. The owners provide a computer with free internet in the common room, which is a nice perk. There are also newspapers and books provided for reading.

Our room was fairly large, with a comfortable bed, small television and a writing desk. It was quiet at night- no noise from the street or other rooms. However, we really didn’t care for the very tiny bathroom. Not only was it too small to be terribly functional, but everything in it seemed a little old and not in the best of shape. The water pressure in the shower was very low and barely conducive to getting clean. On our second day, the shower stopped working in the middle of my husband’s shower. He ended up having to go down the hall to a public shower to get the shampoo out of his hair, which wasn’t the most fun experience. To their credit, the B&B owners were apologetic about the incident, but the showers really should work better than this.

Breakfast was a traditional Irish breakfast and pleasant enough. The owners are welcoming and nice. I think we would rate our experience here as fine, not great. I hope they’ll fix up their bathrooms, because if they’d been in better shape we wouldn’t really have had any complaints about our experience here.

We stayed here on the night we got married and although it was short stay, we enjoyed it. They were very good to us, especially considering we arrived at 1am with no room key! The owner got up and sorted a room for us.
