“BRILLIANT STAFF”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013

We stayed St Patricks night at this hotel which is situated in Botanic Avenue, close to a train station and several bars / coffee shops, restaurants. Main commercial centre is about 15 minutes walk, buses stop outside. Room was large, rather like a mini suite with a modern shower room. Very comfortable and quiet. We ate dinner in the dining room, food was good and the seafood chowder the best I have eaten. Breakfast was excellent with a good selection at the buffet and waiter service for tea, coffee, toast and a cooked option. Staff could not have been more helpful. Free wifi available to guests.
Decor in the dining room / bar was so terrible it was actually funny.
Will stay in this hotel again.

very froo-froo boutique feel in underlying older building with excellent rooms and capacious well equipped bathrooms. The rooms are spotless, cotton linen and quality beds.
What makes the hotel ( as indeed any) are the staff, enthusiastic, attentive and can't do enough for you.
We ate in the restaurant and the mealfor two and wine at 29.95 a good deal. If you want a snack lunch then theres good eateries all around the hotel.
Def stay here again and have to say the staff are world class, natural, friendly and make the place.

Room Tip: can be busy at the w/e so ask for room away from bar

This is one of my favourite hotels...the staff are extremely attentive. Dining alone is not a problem as once again the staff make you feel comfortable ( better than eating alone in your room). The rooms are excellent (if you want a bath make sure that you make this known on booking...I forgot...but this was sorted on my arrival) The bed is just to die for after a hard days work...in fact the only hotel that I've had a 1st good nights sleep in..Parking is on street...but I have never had a problem re security. It is about time that the menu was changed...my last visit in Feb..the food quality had dropped from past visits ..also the continental breakfast was a little sparse...( I didn't realise that croissants have now to be ordered).. However the Full Irish was scrummy..... Re Internet...can't fault...codes given for all devices that I had... All in all...my Irish home from home and can't wait to go back next month..

Stayed here for 1 night having previously stayed before. Hotel is beautifully decorated inside, the staff are very helpful and the food is good quality.

Had a meal in Claudines and thoroughly enjoyed although I found the potatoes and sauces very heavily salted. Great range of cocktails and a really nice atmosphere.

The breakfast was excellent the next morning, we paid an extra £5 to have room service which was on time and a great selection.

Only negative is the hotel, although in a good location, it was almost impossible to find car parking closeby.

Will definitely return however will get the train as Botanic Station is only a 5 minute walk.

Just returned from a weekend break at the Dukes at Queens and had a great time. The hotel was lovely with great staff on reception that couldnt do enough to help you with your stay.Room was perfect with a large comfy bed and large TV mounted on the wall with all round sound mounted on the ceiling. The bathroom was also very good with a large bath and a seperate walk in shower. We flew to Belfast International airport and if you get a Taxi it would cost around £40 but there is a bus service just outside the airport to the left that takes you to the Europa bus station in the city centre for £10 return and this ticket lasts for a month. The bus runs every 15 mins and runs right through the night. The hotel is a 15-20 min walk from the terminal or a taxi will cost around £4. If you are walking leave the bus station through the mall and cross road and turn right keep walking past the GO petrol station and when anther road joins cross over and go down Botanic Avenue there is a post office at top of street. The hotel is a 5 min walk past the cafes and shops the hotel is facing you on left at traffic lights. There is lots of eating and shops near hotel and a relly good place to eat is a cafe called The Other Place which is a couple of minutes away on the left of road. You will get two courses for £8 and you can take your own wine or beers in with you. Just a 5 min walk is the Belfast Museum which has a floor dedicated to the history of the troubles plus lots of other things to see well worth a visit. There are bus tours taking you up the Falls Rd and Shankill and the docks that built the Titanic plus many more sightseeing the hotel puts on a courtesy bus for you.

Room Tip: We asked for a room at the rear as it is quieter

This was our first visit to Belfast and we just stumbled upon this Hotel, and how lucky we were. Not only is the Hotel in a great location surrounded by restaurants and bars, the Hotel itself is excellent. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. It is great to see a team who work together and obviously enjoy what they do. We will certainly be going again and have no hesitation recommending.
