We picked the Marine as it had three stars as opposed to the two stars of other Belfast B&Bs at around the £30 pppn mark. It is in a nice leafy street and is handy for Queen's University, City Hospital and the bars and restaurants in the surrounding area. We noticed an eggy smell on entering the house - but the landlord assured us he was just cooking his tea.
Our room was a family room (one single and a double) and was large, clean and bright - though the carpets was a bit worn and the fittings rather outdated. The owner informed us that breakfast was only served until nine - needless to say we didin't make it, so I can't comment. All in all, the Marine House is ok, but I can't really see why it was awarded three stars. One final thing to mention; after we had paid our bill and left, the owner - a chap in his seventies I would say - came running a fair way down the street after us with my mobile phone that the cleaners had found in our bedroom. Which was nice of him.
