arrived early to be told room was not ready until 2pm, we accepted that as knew that was going to happen. Went back at 2pm, we had to pay for the room before we got the key. The receptionist came and showed us the where breakfast was served, the floor was covered in food and was very dirty. he took us in to the lift which was not the cleanest either. we went into the room to find the curtains hanging by a thread, mould growing up the wall from ceiling ?damp. the bed sheets were dirty there was brown stains on the valance sheet, bathroom was mouldy and dirty too. we got the manager up, he didnt have much to say for himself and when we asked for our money back he done it.

PLEASE dont make the same mistake I did... DO NOT STAY AT RENSHAWS!!

When first entering the room, it was outdated, shabby and had too many stains on the carpet that I care to mention..

The bathroom had a strong smell of urine (how nice) and then our roof began to leak! Staff were helpful and quickly we moved rooms, However there was no key to the room so we needed a member of staff to let us in whenever we left the hotel!

This room was a little better, although still extremely dingy but seemed a little cleaner. And we were offered some complimentary drinks at the bar for our inconvenience. We didnt have a problem with noise because we actually went out until quite late.

The next morning, to say we were disappointed with the breakfast is a bit of an understatement especially as my boyfriend had been fantasising about it from the night before bless him.... a box of cornflakes and some bread (toaster was broken) didn't really hit the spot..

Will never ever be back to renshaws again..for the same money you can do ALOT better elsewhere!

I ended up getting booked in here by my work cause everywhere else in belfast centre was booked up. Words cant really explain this place but it was the worst place i've ever stayed. On arriving I was greated by the stale musty beer stench that floats round the whole building. The place has a sort of student bar on the ground floor which is ok looking but the floor was sticky and it was empty. The rooms were decorated in a sort of 70s style that would have been ok if the room was clean. Summary of the room: Carpet dusty with bits of food on it that hadnt been hoovered up properly, stains on the walls, paint peeling off the wall, sheet on bed was ripped at side and I could see the matress through the 2 small holes in it, TV not working properly. Bathroom very unclean, bad damp cloth smell in it, black fungus growing in the corner of it, shower head was dirty and a health hazzard. Sorry but this is a very poor excuse for a hotel. On a plus side we didnt have any noise and the staff were plesant. My advice if your thinking of staying, don't even think about it find somewhere else. Check out the photos

we booked this hotel through asiarooms for a hen weekend and after reading the reviews we were very wary about this hotel - no worries, the rooms were clean and large and worth ten times more than would you expect for £24 (what we paid) a night b and b. in fact we would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in belfast. the weekend we stayed, the bar was shut (due to staff shortage) and we never heard anything at all (which was probably a good thing). the breakfast is basic (toast, cereal, yogurt etc) but "maggie mays" around the corner does a breafast to die for!!. the hotel is just around the corner from the "golden mile", and we had a great friday night in benedicts. the hotel is a 10 minute (we timed it and it is a straight road down to the city hall) walk to the centre of belfast - no more, no less. a taxi back is no more than £6 -so don't let any bad reviews put you off - book a double room (either room 307 or 308 - massive rooms!!) and have a fantastic time - i would throughly recommend this hotel.

i just got back from a weekend stay at this hotel. I traveled with a group of my friends for my birthday girlie weekend away.

The hotel is about 20 minute walk from the city centre where all the shops are. However, it is situated in the university area, so it is close to lots of bars and restaurants which is excatly what we were looking for.

The hotel was basic but clean and friendly. The breakfast was purely cereal, toast, yohgurt , fruit and tea or coffee. It is served in a very small area adjacent to the reception area.

I would recomend this hotel to people who use it as a base and not looking for luxury.

This hotel looked promising from the outside, but once inside the air of neglect was clear. This was a shame, as it was a gorgeous Victorian (or possibly earlier) building and had dozens of bedrooms - the potential was huge.

Our room was really large and looked clean enough at first glance. However, the carpet looked like it hadn't been hoovered - there was a finger/toenail lying on the carpet by the bed. There were cobwebs hanging from the ceiling and the window was filthy. I felt slightly sick about walking around the room barefoot and especially about using the bath/shower. The towels and bed linen were clean though. There was a dead fly lying on the windowsill (which was filthy) in the bathroom. I made the mistake of running my fingers on the underside of the bath tap - and my fingers emerged covered in thick black gloop. There was thick dirt aroung the taps as well. We had only one toilet roll which was almost finished - we ended up running out.

I was pretty annoyed as it wasn't like the hotel was cheap - at £60 for a double room per night, the least you'd expect is cleanliness. The staff seemed to be part-time student types - and weren't in the least bothered about anything. After going out for something to eat, we arrived back at the hotel at 10.30pm, to find the front door locked. We rang the bell twice and after waiting for about 15mins, we finally had to attract the attention of a member of staff we saw through the window. He answered the door and told us we "should have rang the bell". We said we did, and he just shrugged - no apology or anything.

The continental breakfast in the morning was nice enough, with a choice of cereal, fruit, toast, and yogurt. We had no teacups and we told the guy at the desk (who was busy Internet shopping by the looks of things) and he didn't make a move to get us any. My partner asked if we should take some from another table. He said yes, but didn't bother replacing them. We had no plates either (only bowls and cutlery), and he finally got us some when we asked him.

On the plus side, the hotel bar /nightclub(which can apparently be really noisy) was closed, so we got a peaceful night's sleep. There was a hospitality tray of tea, coffee, biscuits and bottled water., although there were no toiletries. The hotel was in a fairly good location, near the University, but probably too much of a walk into the city centre for a lot of people. I would be concerned if any guests were to have a problem or need help etc. especially during the night, as the staff seemed so uncommitted.

I recently booked into Renshaws & booked out within 10 min!

The hotel was awful, its the worst I've ever seen!

The lift / hallways / bedroom / ensuite all had a really bad damp/musty smell.

The bedroom had a very dirty stained carpet, had a broken blind on one window & very dirty curtains on the other window.
There were a number of dead flies on the windowstill.

The bathroom was very very old & not very clean. It had a very dirty pull cord as the light switch.

The receptionist wasn't very friendly.

The breakfast area was in the reception area & didnt look very clean.

An all round very bad experience........ so glad I got some where else to stay!
