“Fantastic - could not fault”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2010

Stayed at the Malone Lodge Hotel & Apartments for four nights on business in January. I travel solo on business frequently and have to say this is the best hotel I have stayed in yet. The room was fantastic, really large with digital TV and plenty channels. The bathroom was also great with separate shower cubicle and bath. The staff were all really helpful, whether in the bar, restaurant or on reception and went out of their way at all times. The gym was small but equipment was fine and it was quiet when I was there so had the place to myself. I didn't eat dinner in the restaurant but the bar food was great and loads of choice and the breakfast was cooked to perfection. The weather was really bad when I was there so didn't venture out at all and was glad to be staying somewhere so good under such circumstances. The internet was charged but was relatively inexpensive and worked well, which in my experience is a total bonus!

I held my wedding reception in the Malone Lodge and it was absolutely brilliant. The staff were very attentive and friendly and the hotel was itself was simply beautiful. The food was delicios and many guests commented on this, particularly the soup. The room that the recepton was held in was decorated to perfection and the bar staff were all really nice. The only downside I would hav was that the bridal suite was quite dated. There were quite a few dirty marks on the carpet and although there are newer suites across the road, I wanted to stay in the hotel itself so I was slightly disappointed with the standard of the room. Apart from that everything else was perfect

I stayed in this hotel for seven nights and thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

The room was spacious and very well furnished, with a wide selection of channels on the TV. The bathroom was roomy and well equipped.

The staff were efficient and attentive without being overbearing. Although it is a fairly sizeable establishment there is a very warm atmosphere.

As a solo traveller I was happy to dine in the more informal bar - which usually had sport of some kind on TV as a distraction - and found the food to be of a high quality for the price.

The breakfast menu is excellent and the food and service was top notch.

The gym is fairly basic but absolutely fine for a short stay.

One tip would be to ask for a higher room if you plan to use a mobile broadband connection, as the reception is weak. The hotel does have a wifi hotspot which costs extra if needed.

Stayed in a one bed apartment(sleeps 3 adults perfect), ideal location for easy access to the city. Staff were very helpful from the minute we placed a booking from the girl who took the booking to the girl who checked us out. Breakfast pack in the apartment was a nice little touch would highly recommend it.

I got married at Malone Lodge - the staff were amazing, the food unbeatable and the whole ambience perfect.
A family run hotel, Malone Lodge boasts various accommodation set-ups, from the hotel rooms to nearby apartments and more catering to all kinds of travellers, from couples to families and larger groups.
The restaurant is great, the bar is chilled out and the whole feel of this place will keep me going back.
Would reccommend to everyone! Go

A group of girlfriends and I stayed at the Tara Lodge in an apartment. The apartments are actually a short walk down the road from the actual Lodge so be aware of this if you are getting a taxi to the apartments.

The apartment was large and quite spacious considering it needed to house 5 girls! There were two bathrooms and one leaked very badly and there weren't sufficient towels to absorb the water. The area around the hotel also seemed a little intimidating at night and we choose to get taxis into the city centre.

It certainly wasn't luxurious accomodation but the price we paid was extremely reasonable (I think it was £50 each for the two nights we were there) and I would recommend these apartments to anyone on a budget. Although it was quiet when we were there, the night manager did mention that they had lots of hen parties so there could be an issue with noise.
