“We loved this apartment 2 doors down from the hotel.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

This apartment was awesome! We just loved staying in a spacious apt with separate bedroom. It was a nice change from the bed & breakfasts. We stayed 3 nights and were able to do laundry right in the apt, after we figured out how to use the washer/dryer machine! It had everything you would need, dishes, pots, pans, and my husband loved the big flat screen tv. I mentioned to the manager about the charge for wifi so he gave us the code so we could use it for free. My only small complaint was the windows were angled, as we were on the top floor, so we could not see out to the street. Also, mu husband lost his glasses so he was looking everywhere and found a sock & a hair clip under the bed. So obviously the staff don't vaccuum under the bed all the time. Buy hey its all good!

Room Tip: Go to the tourist office downtown, they booked this room as we arrived in Belfast. He got them to gi...

Stayed here september2012 in an executive room which strangely is across the road in another building .the room was a great size large bathroom with jacuzzie bath.lcd tv mini bar iron dressing gowns slippers toilietries etc.we had a problem with the heating but they sorted it and the duty manager steven was very good and took this into account when sorting out our bill! We had a meal in the green room restrurant it was my birthday and they presented me with a bottle of champagne which was delicious as was the food. All the staff here deserve a mention as they are helpful friendly and smiliey!the breakfast is cooked to order and was great. We used the hotels car park left the car there all weekend and used the metro buses which were cheap and frequent to the city centre. We would stay here again when in belfast

Room Tip: Go for the executive rooms

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at the Malone Lodge Hotel in the University area of Belfast. We had booked an apartment so we would have space for 3 grandchildren to play and to have the convenience of being able to cook for them. There is also a sofa bed in the apartment which was easily converted into a bed when required.

The staff were very helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The apartment itself was very clean with enough space for all our needs and came complete with washing machine, full cooker and microwave. A basic pack of tea, coffee, milk, sugar, juice, jam, bread and butter was provided and there are several supermarkets within walking range.

We also had a meal in the Hotel's restaurant which was good and reasonably priced.

I would certainly use the apartment facility of the hotel again.

Room Tip: The hotel has several apartment blocks in the area and we were in the one opposite the hotel. Our ro...

We stayed in one of the apartments, and couldn't have been happier. The rooms were very clean and updated. The Customer service could not be faulted, I lost my car keys on arrival (later found in my possession!) and the owner & reception went out of their way to help me look for the keys, and also arranged with car rental to get me another car sooner than the 3 days they were planning on making me wait. I have nothing but high praise for the accommodation, meals and service. Most definitely would stay again!

We arrived on the Saturday afternoon to be met with a wedding party in full swing, and told that due to an accident with the building works next door, all available apartments were full. Considering that we had just driven for 6 hours up from Roundstone in Galway, this was not the ideal news. However, one of the Duty Managers, Stephen, apologised and explained the situation where he would give us a choice of rooms for the evening and we could move into our apartment sometime on Sunday. He also informed me that he would provide a free drink in the bar when we came back down and a complimentary breakfast the following morning - this was on top of upgrading our apartment to a suite. We had dinner in the hotel that night and the service was very good, especially a waiter named Tony. The bedroom was very comfortable and we did not hear any noise at all coming from the wedding party.Breakfast was a bit of a mess, as we had to ask a member of staff to take our order after various guests who arrived later were served before us - once again Tony the waiter was "busting his chops" trying to get everyone served while the other female members of staff were content to go at their own pace. I got the impression that there were not enough staff on duty to cope with the amount of guests for breakfast. After visiting the city centre we returned to the hotel and asked to be shown the apartment before we moved, it was on the ground floor virtually next door to the hotel and it was very good with a large living room with kitchen area, a substantial bathroom and a large bedroom - this would more than make up for anything that happened previously. I found overall that the Malone is in an ideal spot ( apart from the building work going on) with a varied choice of restaurants within easy walking distance and more than not the hotel staff were very good.I read in another review a complaint about air con, would I suggest just open a couple of windows if it seems too warm. On checking out, I asked the receptionist to pass on my congratulations to Stephen for rescuing a very tricky situation, especially when he clearly had his hands full dealing with a large and boisterous wedding party.

Room Tip: Initially we were in a room on the first floor with a good view over the tree-lined avenue, and even...
