“Great Hotel In Central Belfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2012

Despite being a citizen of Belfast, I've stayed at the Europa Hotel a number of times with friends and praise their hospitality, high standards of service, comfort verging on luxury in many rooms. The bedrooms have every conceivable feature, including white towelling robes, slippers, free wi-fi, charger, tea and coffee, super-duper extra large king-size bed, plenty od space, flat-screen telly, almost everything you'd wish!

The staff are anxious to please and satisfy every request from residents and visitors.

Breakfast was a massive, buffet-style, self-service affair, with all the ingredients for an enormous Ulster Fry, cereal, juices, toast and much more.

Stayed for a night on a business trip in a spacious suite on the 8th floor. The room was scrupulously clean and well furnished (e.g. TVs in both the sitting room and bedroom). The large bathroom had both a bath and a good shower. It was also very well sound proofed. Two negatives - the duvet was too hot which made for a fitful sleep (why do so many hotels make this mistake?) and a mini fridge would have been nice. The buffet breakfast was fine. Staff were courteous and helpful.

Not an atmospheric historic hotel but good for a work trip/conference or as a tourist if you want a city centre location and get a good offer - the City Hall, the wonderful Linen Hall Library etc. are all just walking distance and the Europa Bus Terminus is next door, convenient to for the airport and travelling to other parts of Ireland. Don't forget to have a whisky or Guinness in the great old pub opposite next to Robinsons.

It was a quick trip to Belfast, but the Europa would be worth a return visit. The hotel was busy and unfortunately, the only rooms they had left were smoking rooms (even though I'd specifically requested a non smoking room). The staff were very apologetic and the room had been well aired, so it wasn't too bad. It was very comfortable - a huge bed with lots of comfy pillows, a very nice bathroom and an amazing view over the city. The faulty kettle in my room was replaced quickly when I rang Reception. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice, though I drew the line at Bushmills Whisky on my morning porridge!

I'd stay at the Europa again - with my other half in a no smoking room!

Room Tip: Rooms to the side of the hotel were quieter - a colleague had one right next to the illuminated sign...

We stayed in the Europa on Saturday 24th March 2012 - I had made a few requests before we had arrived and all requests were carried out - Staff were very attentive and we had a great and memorable stay in the hotel.

They booked me into a foul smelling smoking room and couldn't change it because they were full........very bad way to treat a customer. Not happy!

On my next visit to Belfast will definitely stay again. Stayed for two nights, and I don't think I've ever stayed in a hotel with so much going on - charity nights, weddings, abseiling(!!), fashion shows - and the staff were helpful and courteous throughout. Even the fire alarm going off at 4.40 am lasted approx 50 seconds before we were informed not to evacuate the hotel, and didn't detract from enjoying the stay at all.
