“Wonderful Hotel, Friendly Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2009

We recently visited the Hilton Belfast and were welcomed like old friends by Damian and Michael at Reception. They really know how to take care of their guests. For this to be a large chain hotel, it gives very personal service. The Executive Rooms give you access to the Executive Lounge, (which is for exclusive use of Executive guests and provides drinks and canapes). Both Mary and Donna who work in the Lounge were lovely and treated us so well! Charlie the Concierge was a wealth of knowledge and extremely helpful. We loved the luxury of having room service when we got the munchies at 1am. These simple things made our stay so much more enjoyable and memorable. We had a meal on our last visit, at the Hotel's Sonoma Restaurant and it was delicious. We intend to return again very soon as a treat for Christmas to visit the Continental Market. We would recommend the Belfast Hilton in a heartbeat to our friends and family.

just arrived back from a great weekend at the Hilton Belfast! Krystina, Jane and Donna were really attentive in the executive lounge and waited on us really well although it was extremely busy there. Kyle served us food in Cable bar and also gave great service putting the welsh rugby game on the tv for us. Jolio conversed with us in spanish at the reception and made us feel really welcome along with Karen who was really nice too. Michael in the restaurant was very welcoming and looked after us there along with his great sense of humour. The Cables bar is really cosy to sit and have drinks especially if sat by the flamed effect fire. I would definately stay there again and recommend it to all my friends.

My husand and i have a liitle daughter with autism so my dad had treated us to a night away as a little break. After what had been quite a stressful week we arrived at the hotel quite late on fri (approx 8pm). From the minute we entered the hotel the service was fantastic from the Concierge who took the keys and parked the car for us to Damien at the front desk who went out of his way to ensure our stay was as relaxed as possible. We stayed in a corner studio which had views of Belfast I'm sure unrivalled by the majority of other hotels in the city. Although we only stayed one night and enjoyed a great night out in Belfast we felt as though the staff here, despite being very busy with a fully booked hotel and a formal ball to deal with, really took personal pride in looking after us. We plan to make this a regular retreat and would recommend it to anyone!!

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights mid November 2009. First impressions are good with a airy and bright lobby and friendly staff at reception. Check in was quick, although nobody else checking in or out.

I noted the 5 stars on a brass plack on the way in and noted that they must have got an upgrade since my last visit and was looking forward to 5 star room etc. But that was not the case. Rooms whilst comfortable and quite large are definitely 5 star material. I stayed in 4 stars in Europe recently that were better furnished. Some of the furniture in my room was chipped, there was a stain on the throw on the bed, the light switch on bedside lamp was faulty, (seemed like a short in the wire) The shower head was loose and water flowed down the wall and onto the floor and the .750l bottle of water 'provided' in the room with a price tag of £3.95 sitting beside it had already been opened and a about a glassful gone! Toiletries in the bathroom amounted to shower gel/shampoo and conditioner and soap. No body lotion or showercap.

On my way across the lobby to the bar I was met with a smell of chips! There didnt appear to be any floor staff and so I went to the bar to get served. I noticed where the carpet was fraying at the joins and also quite a large hole near the couch we were sitting on. Again I had to go to the bar to ask for someone to come and wipe down the table we were sitting at. It all felt a bit 'chippy' with kids running around and bottles of tomato sauce on the tables...sorry but this doesnt stand up to 4 star never mind 5.

I know that there is an executive floor (11th) and perhaps the sleeping rooms situation is 5 star but the common areas are not. Breakfast room again bright and cheery and the selection and quality of food average to good. (Real orange juice from one jug and concentrate from another).

Am currently staying here on a work trip and was disappointed. I expected more from a brand like this and the price - I've encountered much nicer hotels for a lower relative price... even under the same brand name.

- it is implied on the website that the internet access is included but it is not. It's £15 for 24 hours on a wired connection in the room, and the cable is too short to use it on the bed so you have to sit in the hard "easy chair" instead, which is far from comfortable. Or £10 for wireless in the reception area (not exactly relaxing).
- cold room, and no way to control temperature that actually worked. I sat with my coat over my lap to keep warm.
- room service food arrived lukewarm, and that's probably being generous
- not enough accessible sockets so had to charge my phone on the floor
- the mattress is rigid and yet simultaneously collapses like it needs replacing.
- and to top it off... the person next door just started snoring!! - I shouldn't be able to hear that!!

Go to Chongqing in China if you want a better Hilton but don't use the one in Belfast!

My wife and I stayed in the Hilton Belfast mid Nov 2009. Overall we were disappointed. There was an incredible smell of fried food through out the lobby, bar and restaurant? The evening dinner in the restaurant and breakfast food was struggling to reach average. Our room was far from spotless - the bath and the toilet could have done with a good scrub. Parking charges are a complete rip off. The staff were very friendly and helpful but we would find it hard to go back to this hotel.
