Pleasant area within walking distance of city centre, trying to avoid the temptation of many shops, and with a fine outstanding Cathedral.
Cathedral Quarter is a terrific location to be in as you can walk to all the interesting places and it is buzzing at night. The Merchant Hotel is a must see as it has a beautiful interior and they serve delicious light food and cocktails in the bar with a style and panache that makes one feel special.
Lots to do and see, great places to eat. The cathedral Quarter is an ideal base for seeing all of Belfast. It is within easy walking distance of the Titanic Quarter and the shopping centre. It hosts the Oh Yeah museum and brilliant restaurants such as Made In Belfast.
Wander around the side streets you'll not go far without dropping on a few great bars. There are some great small places with live music.
I am a great tourist-walker, and I found this a pretty, scenic and pleasant area to indulge this. I would have liked to see a little more sinage for the various sights, but it seems they are addressing this. Picturesque and worth exploring
