“Beautiful Castle grounds and view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

This is a newer castle but we Americans love any kind of castle!
The view is breathtaking on a sunny clear day. A must see if you are in Belfast. Also, very nice walking grounds if you have the time to hike

“Lovely location & great food.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2013

This is a real favorite of mine. The food is always delicious, served promptly and the staff are friendly, courteous and professional. The Castle has beautifully maintained gardens where you can sit admiring the views of Belfast Lough while having coffee or a drink from the bar. I chose to hold our wedding at this venue and our guests all commented on how much they enjoyed the food.

“Unexpectedly pleasant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2013

Worth a visit for the views over Belfast alone, the lovely gardens add an extra touch. The café is fairly decent too, with very friendly staff and reasonable enough prices. I am glad that I was persuaded to visit on a recent trip to Belfast.

“More like a Restaurant on a Hill!!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2013

A Work colleage recommended I should pay it a visit. So I got the number 1 bus from city centre, the driver stoppped and pointed to a small outpost near the bus stop; "There's the castle" he joked - I wasn't falling for it, you had to walk a little further following the signs all the way up the hill to the castle. The Views were magnificent on that nice sunny day, we could see the Titanic Quarter and the mouth of the River Lagon. The "Castle" when we got there was cr4p, someone needs to be sued for false advertising, what an anti-climax! The security gaurd was OTT in the castles' garden and kept following us around, so we reluctantly went in to find that none of the rooms were open for touring. We had a toilet break and dashed back the No1 Bus. Had a good work out climbing the hill and took some good snaps.

“Just terrible- plain and simple”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

Attended a wedding recently at the Castle. The venue has some lovely views but sadly after that its all down hill. The food I ate was shocking. Does your chef not know how to taste the food? The soup was peppery and tasted like it was straight out of a packet. The main course was the dryest an dmost over cooked excuse I have ever seen- my sympathies goes to the chicken. The dessert was average at best but when you find a piece of rotten fruit in your dessert it makes it even worse. The 'Manager'' when we mentioned this to her was in credibly obnoxious and in an overly pushy manner insisted we have the wine as an apology. The service was incredibly disjointed and it was very late when we actually got into the room for the first dance. Having worked in the industry before for many years, I am shocked how this establishment has any sort of reputation. The fact that everyone on our table commented on how back it was says a lot.
