Queens is a beautiful old university situated in the nicest part of Belfast.
Famously Seamus Heaney studied here, and also Bernedette Devlin who at the age of 21 was elected into the British parliament the youngest woman ever to be an MP. She didn't finish her degree at Queens however, and there is no portrait in the Great Hall.
Good art gallery The Naughton is situated upstairs in what was the old telephone exchange.
Close to the Ulster Museum anf Botanic Gardens .
Been to Belfast lots of times from Australia and went to Queens for the first time this trip. Was really impressed with the architecture, history and general vibe of the place. We had hop-on hop-off bus tickets which dropped us off at the door and spent a couple of hours there before walking through the gardens for a leisurely stroll back to Belfast. Well worth a look see.
Wonderful natural history museum right on the campus. Covering millions of years of evolution. Start at the top 5th floor and walk all the way to the bottom Excellent stop for the money. Hop on Hop off bus stops right across the street.
Listened to Seamus Heaney here. I will neer forget the atmosphere created by his readings. Anyone who visits Belfast must not miss this visit.
