“Helpful and knowledgeable staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

I visited the Linen Hall Library to do some research on the history of Belfast for a new job. The staff pointed me in the right direction and pulled out useful books from the old ceiling-high shelves and I ensconced myself in a comfortable corner to read all day. The addition of the Clements cafe onsite means you can get your lunch or coffee without having to even leave the building.

“Great place to unwind in central Belfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

A somewhat hidden gem in the heart of Belfast. Relax and unwind with a book whilst enjoying a tea/coffee in the very heart of Belfast. Explore the history of our wonderful city.

“Great Lunch Venue”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

A little eighteenth century oasis of enlightenment in the very centre of Belfast, and they serve food too! Fresh soups and sandwiches and other snacks. I liked the vegetable broth served with crusty wheaten bread. There is usually room to meet and chat (quietly it is a library after all). The library also produces limited edition prints of local subjects which can be great gifts.

“A little gem hidden away on Donegal Square”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2012

I was searching for a museum in Central Belfast (there isn't one, you need to go south towards Queens University to find it) and found this place after asking at the Tourist Information Centre. It is a pleasant surprise. Not only is it a libary but it's also an exhibition space, and a mine of information about Ireland in general and Belfast in particular.

Good cafe and clean toilets too. :-)
