“excellent weekend brunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2012

Have only recently found this restaurant but will definitely become a regular treat.

Really busy and buzzy. Staff really friendly and efficient. The restaurant is quirky and interesting. The breakfast menu is simple but sufficient. Both times i have been i have had french toast with bacon and maple syrup. YUM. they generally only serve this on Sunday but they agreed to make this for me on a Saturday - thank you!

we were lucky to be seated quickly each time, but people were queued out the door later. Says a lot about a place when people are prepared to wait.

“Not enough on the plate for the money!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2012 via mobile

Have been here numerous times at lunchtime and could not fault however can not say the same for evening time. Everyone at our table commented on the fact that charging 12.95 for 2 burgers the size of small meatballs it just way too expensive!!! Staff were flat out but very friendly and the decor and atmosphere is great just a shame about the pricing structure!!

“Expected much more”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012

we had dinner in Harlem Cafe on Sat Night. We had contacted the restaurant to check re menu as one of our party is coeliac. We were assured that they had lots on the menu suitable. Unfortunately that was not the case, in fact there was only one option on the entrees, steak, other items on the menu were not available, It's a pity as we had gone to this restaurant on a recommendation The restaurant has a lovely warm cosy feeling when you walk in, except where we were sitting, where there was a cold breeze blowing, it seemed to be coming from the kitchen which doesn't make sense! I was a guest in the party and didn't want to make a fuss, hence I didn't complain at the time. The decor, style etc are lovely, it's just a pity the rest of the experience doesn't match the styling.

“Stylish”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012

Great atmosphere, wonderful atmosphere - such a variety of chairs and teapots! The brunch was great too. One complaint - the service is not as good as it should be. Overall a wonderful experience.

“Great Lunch in a Quirky setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012

We ate here as a treat for my parents that were visiting us, it was very busy and we were lucky to get a fabulous table at the back of the cafe. I would recommend booking in advance. I had a lovely asparagus quiche which was fresh, tasty and homemade. My partner had a burger and my dad had the chicken pie, we were really impressed with the food, the service and the atmosphere was lovely. I'll definitely be going back.
