“What a change from usual eateries”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2012

We passed the Harlem as we had intended eating in a good oldfashioned Irish pub, but then decided that the Harlem seemed so unusual we had to eat there. Luckily we got a table as many were turned away.

The decor is unusual to say the least. Tables and chairs are a lovely mismash and the walls are covered in the most odd mix of prints, photos, etc. But somehow it all works. Tables had candles in overthetop holders and the wine coolers were enormous.

Staff were friendly and took care of our order tho we did have to wait a little.

The food was good and reasonably priced (compared to some meals we had on our trip), also the wine was not overly expensive.

Suggest if you want an unusual restaurant to eat in, go to the Harlem.

“I love this place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

It’s beautiful eclectic decor of antiques of different shapes and sizes provide an inviting and fresh atmosphere to the standard Belfast lunchtime hangout. High ceilings and good lighting also help set the lovely dining experience. They provide a rich and diverse menu to please all palettes and make it a point of sourcing local produce as much as possible. Be prepared to wait in line during weekday lunchtime periods as this place is centrally located and very popular. Oh and they make a pretty good cappuccino, nice creamy froth and strong flavour.

“Average and over priced”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2012

The service was slow, coffee was average but I respect that they use an independent and small coffee supplier - however it was way too overpriced, 2.40 for an americano is on par with or more expensive than London! The food was nice enough but again far too expensive for how it tasted. Redeeming features include the decor - it's beautiful, funky, different and well laid out.

“Very Nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2012

Nice & quirky tardis like Cafe. Small frontage that opens into a rather spacious dining area. Full of suits and ladies that lunch when I was in but don't let that deter anyone. Staff very friendly and breakfast was tasty and hot.
